can you make it so the training screen shows up for Psi-Ops anyways because I have a mod that lets me spend AP to boost stats but it requires the Training Center ability screen which Psi-Ops cannot access normally meaning that, as powerful as their abilities are, they get left behind in terms of raw stats, especially since the mod also stupidly disables stat gains from covert actions

Hi, I wanted to share that this mod is indicated as incompatible with Community promotion screen. The latter asks this one to be inactivated.

I can confirm that this mod is not compatible with LWoTC. When promoting a rookie It will only show you the 2 vanilla paths.

@pauloel7: There's little point having both mods active, they affect a similar partof the game, but come from a very different point of view. This mod doesn't allow access to the training screen for unit whcih don't already, it just allows easy access from the Armoury, not having to go via the Traning Centre all the time. As the name implies, the othe rmod replaces the "old style" ability in all situations, so classes which don't have access to the training centre normally, since they use the training screen, can buy abilities. Put simpiy, this mod is purely use a UI convenience, it doesn't allow you to actually do anything you couldn't already, and shows the two columnt ability view for promitions, and before the training centre is build.. The other mod opens up the tranining centre for all classes, and uses the training screen view even when the training centre isn't built, but it doesnt allow ability purchase until the traning centre is buit.

not sure what button you mean? If the training centre is built, then selecting "soldiers abilities" from the armoury will open up the training screen instead. Unless a promotion is due, then it will show the old screen to prompt selecting the free ability.

How Instant Avenger Menus work for me: game freezes for 2 or 3 sec when switching to/from the globe. Never sure if it is still working or hanged up :) So I decided to switch over to this mod but I cannot tell the difference yet :\ Where's that button should have appeared?..

@Wicked: Maybe, I'd have to check with instant avenger menu's mod authours first as a curtesy. The zoom/animations for the avengers menus just never bothered me personally (even before I upgraded my GPU last Nov, which got rid of the lag/hitching with some of the transitions for me).

Thanks! I have just installed this and it is a surprisingly huge quality of life improvement.

Hey, btw people have found out that your Spark Training mod is bugged due to an extra line of code in the .ini file. Might want to check that out!

(Deleting the extra line of code makes everything work just fine however)

@Tatourmi: Yes, it's compatible with the spark buff mod I released the same evening. This mod just checks if a unit has access to the training centre, it doesn't care how or why.

@Musahi: Well the "proportion" of an override only really matters to the extent that other mods override the same class. If you look at the release notes for that mod, you'll notice that using a screen listener to entirely replace a screen (pop and replace), tends to have a lot of side effects which then need patching up, and it still has one override, of the screenUI itself. Now if only the SDK supported function level, not just class level, overrides ;-).

The other mod uses a screen listener which is much better than an override of this proportions.

lol, I did a quick sarch first. This wasn't a big mod to make in terms of time, really a spin off from the research for my spark buff mod I just published as well. Always interesting to see how different mods do something similar with different overrides, which probably also is linked to the different approach to edge issues, like how I left the traditional screen in place when it made sense to me.
