I'd love a version of this that uses the Halo 3 ODST low health sound. (I use a halo soundtrack replacer so it would be very fitting) Either way great mod. I've been looking for something other than heartbeat

Im happy to say i just tested with OpenStarbound and i didn't got any crash playing with my friend when the health alarm started to sound. :luv:

Im glad about that because this mod is extreme important to use, atleast for me :GunfireRebornflower:

Funny, this mod is helping a lot :p2cube:

I've been using this mod for a while and i gotta say, If i didn't have it i would have died so much just because a lot of games, especially ones that i love playing, tuck the health bar into this tiny corner and don't have a way to make it apparent to the player just by looking at their character or listening for an alert-like sound to play for some reason
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 19 Jul, 2023 @ 3:48pm
you dl the github version and point it at a soundfile you put in the mod folder, you don't have to .pa k it for it to work
SgtPineBox 19 Jul, 2023 @ 2:06pm
to alter the mod do i just have to download the github version then find a file or do i have to code the entirety of red dead redemption 2
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 18 Jul, 2023 @ 6:07am
if you know how to alter this mod to use custom sound effects, you can, it just means you can't use it in *multiplayer*, as it will crash anyone else near you if the alarm is playing
SgtPineBox 17 Jul, 2023 @ 6:37pm
if custom sound effects are not supported does that mean i cant use them in singeplayer
GasmisenFeik 18 Jan, 2023 @ 11:00pm
This isn't a bug per se but is is possible to have support for something like the "Shoggoth & Friends" mod with the "Cursed Sword" item that has a constant de-buff that always/permanently that leaves you at 1 health while held? I know it's not the most important thing but would be nice to have for a species with a gimmick like that
tigerfestival1988 16 Nov, 2022 @ 4:27pm
Think you can make another version but with the Pokemon low hp sound?
FoxTsra 25 Aug, 2021 @ 8:52am
Hey listen!
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 1 Jun, 2021 @ 2:47pm
This mod does work with FU. There was a fix I did forever ago just for FU. As for regular compatibility, it only adds a new player script entry, so anything that overwrites that later than this mod does will be incompatible.
No HERO 1 Jun, 2021 @ 6:59am
Does this mode work with Frackin' Universe? How compatible is this in general?
I've been hoping to use this for YEARS. I can't believe chucklefish haven't implanted this.

thanks so much

Great mod!
This has saved me from frustration and saved my life now countless times!
About 95% of my deaths in Starbound have happened because I haven't noticed low hp.
Garnox 23 Sep, 2020 @ 10:34am
cant count how many times i died of fall damage after getting to the ark and using sonic ball
dagobertdu94 7 Sep, 2020 @ 1:39pm
For some reason it doesn't work anymore if I get low health...
Overcharged Goombeetle 30 May, 2020 @ 5:51am
oh.....
Ight, noted
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 30 May, 2020 @ 5:50am
Spicy Calamari It is, that's what the sound used to be, but that means that other people have to have the version you have, and the custom sound you have, or they will crash when your player's low health tells them to play that sound.
Overcharged Goombeetle 30 May, 2020 @ 5:43am
Question, is it possible to replace the sounds for like.... Legend of Zelda´s alarm?
Zooker 2 May, 2020 @ 5:32am
Thankyou. I keep dying in this game because I don't realise how low my health is. It's an example of poor game design on Starbound when they make the health bar so small and out the way so audio cues are necessary, and they indicate with audio when you're starving but not when you're low on health
Kiddley 26 Apr, 2020 @ 7:19am
Great, now I can feel the same crippling anxiety that I feel in legend of zelda when I am at low health. I suppose it is better than running headfirst into battle at 2 bars lol.
The Funkiest Dwarf 1 Feb, 2020 @ 8:35am
Now everyone can here that ear destroying low health sound from the legend of zelda series! * cough *
vanillaslice 24 Jan, 2020 @ 10:44pm
BUG REPORT: A annoying sound keeps playing every time my health gets low ;D
vanillaslice 24 Jan, 2020 @ 10:43pm
haha
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 24 Jan, 2020 @ 8:52pm
Azurian: That's kind of the point.
Azurian 24 Jan, 2020 @ 11:36am
incredibly annoying sound
vanillaslice 20 Jan, 2020 @ 2:41am
Could there be a HP bar for the player too?
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 11 Oct, 2019 @ 7:29pm
F L O B. It shouldn't be doing that, I just checked the code I last released and it doesn't change your hp at all (though I do use that for testing it sometimes)
Jebediah H. Bumblesnart 11 Oct, 2019 @ 2:23am
I downloaded this mod and whenever i re-log it sets my health to the level when the alarm starts. 0/10- IGN
Xander 29 Aug, 2019 @ 7:50am
oh god... Super Metroid's sound effect got annoying after a while..... How will this be i wonder?
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 13 Apr, 2019 @ 11:07am
I'm actually updating this! It's been forever, I know, but it's about dang time. Unfortunately it's going to lose the custom sound support in favour of being able to use it on any multiplayer server anywhere, hopefully without crashing other players out of the game! If you guys want it, I'll upload the custom sound version as a separate file and link it here.
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 16 Jan, 2019 @ 11:07pm
The .pak file on the main branch should work, but the "releases" on github aren't up to date with what's available here. (the .pak file, and the code should be more or less identical at the HEAD of the master branch)
Dusk Holloway 16 Jan, 2019 @ 3:02am
The Github version doesn't seem to work but the workshop version does.
Starman the Blaziken 15 Jan, 2019 @ 3:02pm
I wish it was only client-side... It dun made me crash the whole time in a server and I thought it was pure client-side
GasterMaster70 2 Dec, 2018 @ 10:36pm
I would download it if it was the Metroid low health alarm...but I'm too lazy to change it.
TheSkullton 25 Nov, 2018 @ 6:14am
this mod has saved my life many times.
CrabCake 6 Jun, 2018 @ 7:25pm
At first I thought this was a good idea but hearing the Sound that comes from Legend Of Zelda Link to the past... I then wasn't sure this was a good idea.

They are not toxic, just demanding.

Lots of people use it, so its only reasonable to ask if a mod is compatible with them, as said mod is improving their starbound expirence just as much as FU is. The player would like to experience both together without issue.

Sayter (creator of FU/FUI/FR) gets flooded with hundreds of the same messages every day asking if X mod is compatible with his mods or asking why their game crashes when they install mods without considering if they work together. I dont blame him for being stubborn and blaming other mods for incompatibility issues.

Its not Toxic, its just a popular mod.
People that demand compatibility without consideration are toxic.

You can choose to be conpatible or not if you like, it's not my decision. Just please remember that all modders here all all started with the intent of improving starbound, and bring a better experience to those who seek it.
Why not continue to improve by working together?
Andriel Chaoti  [author] 29 May, 2018 @ 8:34pm
@kingbae I don't support compatibility with FU/FUI/FR,those mods are so toxic to the modding community that it's not worth the effort to cater to them.
DJSwayZ 29 May, 2018 @ 8:38am
frackin ui patch plz
Talkinghornetsnest 26 May, 2018 @ 12:24am
this is so necessary for me in all games that i actually forgot it was a mod. Its the only reason i dont die every 10 seconds! also, now that ive read the comments, i now understand why the sound always felt right... its from the legend of zelda, which is part of my soul
toughelite232 20 May, 2018 @ 11:07am
Anyone got a tutorial video on how to replace the sound with a heartbeat?
MxInvisible 11 Apr, 2018 @ 12:46pm
I used to complain about this so much that it's actually ridiculous

...I was listening to someone play a Link to the Past randomizer on Youtube when this mod first kicked in and didn't realize it was me until I exploded and the beeping stopped.
10/10 would confuse self again.
