@YJ_Brian These plane stand assets are obsolete with the new DLC
YJ_Brian 24 Apr, 2022 @ 9:14pm
it is possible to make the simple plane stand for DLC?

@vasmir22, when I try to use the plane stand decals and the stop-bar decals on the plane stand itself, it says "Space already occupied," and when I I use the fine road anarchy to try and place them, they disappear when placed on the plane stand. Any ideas?

@pljbarrios airport roads is required to make it functional.
pljbarrios 20 Apr, 2021 @ 5:14pm
does it "require" airport roads or will it work just as fine with https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=512314255&searchtext=network+extensons which also unlocks airport roads?

It doesnt seem to be working, tried everything to try to get it too work. My runways work fine with another plane stand but as soon as i disable that one no planes will land or takeoff

@crelle2008 You can't. The only way to prevent other planes from stopping on these, is to remove their ability to spawn altogether. So if you only want 737s to use them, you have to remove all other aircraft from spawning. The Plane AI in cities skylines is not very smart, and therefore has no way to selectively filter out matching criteria. The only exception is cargo vs passenger, but that's because the two AI are treated differently, just as cargo boats are treated differently from passenger aircraft.

like if i only wanted 737 to stop there?

How do i manipulate with what planes allowed to land there
CaptainCor 19 Nov, 2018 @ 10:17am
Ok Thank You, I will try these out!

@CaptainCor The plane AI is a bit weird, and the person who created the airport roads mod made a comment that technically the fact that planes use the airport roads is a side-effect. So there is no way to ensure that they don't do weird things like that, unless you create a mod that replaces the plane AI.
As for the loop, open the vanilla small airport asset in the asset editor (you might have to create a new one using the airport asset as a base). If you go to add a road, the road arrows will appear above the airport roads, showing you their path. The taxiway makes a loop from the runway, which allows for planes to enter on the long side, and exit on the long side (they look for a runway node which is not attached to any other nodes - i.e. the end of the runway). Then look at the airplane stops, you can see that the node that connects to the taxiway has 3 segments, 1) a taxiway that enters the node, 2) a taxiway that leaves the node, and 3) the plane stop itself.

Cause I’ve tried everything, I’ve watched videos and copied exactly what’s done and still won’t work.
CaptainCor 18 Nov, 2018 @ 6:03pm
I’m still a little confused on what you mean by loop, are you talking about how the taxiways are connected to the runways? Is there any way you can show me an example? And also do you know how to fix the issue of planes landing on taxiways, and or taking off immediately when landing?
vasimr22  [author] 17 Nov, 2018 @ 12:02pm
@captaincor either works, the important part is that you have a loop (from the segments perspective, not visibly). The plane AI doesn’t care where the nodes /
Segments are, as long as they are connected correctly.
It doesn’t always work, because the plane AI is very finicky. Each situation is different.

So when connecting the plane stand with taxiway, for the in and out do i overlap them? or do i make like a V segment? Ive tried both but none work
vasimr22  [author] 29 Sep, 2018 @ 12:20pm
@trippah You shouldn't need any of the expansions. As for planes not showing up, the plane AI can be picky. Make sure you have a closed loop of taxiway, a way to enter and exit the stand which uses seperate taxiways (they are one-way), and a connection to the runway which has stubs on either end. Look at the default small airport for clarification.
trippah 29 Sep, 2018 @ 9:27am
Do i need after dark with this? I have connected predesrian path and taxi way in and out but no planes for months......? if i put the default airport the planes come...
vasimr22  [author] 16 Jan, 2018 @ 11:57am
Do you have a taxiway leading away from the planestand as well? The planes need to be able to make a loop to and from the runway, and taxiways are one-way (the planestand itself is two-way, but the node that connects to the taxiway needs an in and an out segment).
Also note that the planestands can be drive through, where the in and out are on different ends of the planestand.
As for the planes despawning, this happens when the plane becomes empty and there is no return path to the runway.
Finally, if you drag a taxiway or runway node with moveit, you can end up breaking the segment, so you will have to delete and replace it (dragging the mid-segment control for arcs should have no effect on that).

it works, but only planes coming and land, no one in the city will go to the airport and take a plane to leave. Also, the plane despawn as soon as it park...everything else works perfect, just wondering is there anything i can do to improve
vasimr22  [author] 11 Jan, 2018 @ 11:29am
That's correct. Additionally, it does not require a road, but if there is no road near by, it will need a pedestrian path.

So this is functional plane stand like the one from Samsam but this one does not have props right?
