Just uploaded the update! What changed:

  • Added cheapest pick (when tied, takes one pseudo randomly)
  • Added random pick
  • Added ban list (to define which tech shouldn't be picked by cheapest and random)
  • Research cost multiplier is now shared across all countries (so less cheating possibility for multiplayer)
  • Legacy picking is restricted to single player (because it ignores tech options and shuffling, I thought it was bad for balance)
  • Rewrote a lot of code to make it cleaner, patches should be easier
  • Wrote some code to allow users to continue a game with the new version. Couldn't test it a lot, hopefully everything works fine
  • Added checks for SLEX. If SLEX isn't installed, the user will be warned
  • Tech level tracking is independent of SLEX. This means that if for some reason you had SLEX desactivated, you can reactivate it and play the same save with no need to reload a previous save
  • Added french translation

Fixed localisation for non english

Just updated (version 2.1).

If you already used the mod on an old savegame and had the same problem as @Brevven, please just wait a month OR switch back to old mode and then to new mode using the mod menu.

Fixed :
- bug when using an old savegame
- wrong localisation for one tech (was the same as another one)
- a bug with empire sprawl, now you can go up to 4k sprawl without problems (if you have more, the mod will think you have 4k)
- an edge case when you had level 200+ repeatables. Now you can go up to 50k+ levels (I don't think anyone will reach that lol)
