Right click on the wallpaper -> open in Explorer -> open gifscene.pkg with your text editor (I use notepad++). Do a search for "halo" (CTRL + F). Ignore the one at the top of the file, you are looking for something like this
"material" : "materials/particle/halo_1.json",
"maxcount" : 12000,
"operator" :
you need to change the "maxcount" variable to 00000.
IMPORTANT : you don't want to change the file size at all, so don't just set it to 0, set it to 00000. If the file size changes, the wallpaper may stop working. Your changes should look like this
"material" : "materials/particle/halo_1.json",
"maxcount" : 00000,
"operator" :
then you can save the file, load up another wallpaper then switch back and it should work without the cursor effect.
