Middle-Mouse Panning Fix for Linux [A17]

Description
All this mod does is add custom handling to pan the map while the middle mouse button is held down. This works around a bug in the Unity engine version that Rimworld uses for A16 and A17 (version 5.4.1f1) which only affects Linux systems.

Per my thread on the Ludeon forums[ludeon.com], this bug should disappear in the next major version after A17 as Rimworld will update its Unity version. (for those interested, Middle mouse panning is the intended behaviour, but in A16 and A17 the Linux version has a bug stemming from Unity that causes the middle mouse button to be identified as the right mouse button. That's why the right mouse button kinda scrolls but also opens the right-click context menu--it's periodically mistaken for the middle mouse button)

This will work fine with any existing game and shouldn't have any compatibility issues with any other mods.

For those interested, the source code can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/CephalopodDarius/rimworldmousepanninglinux

Note: This does not work on the worldmap--only the game map.

@temetvince Interesting--I haven't updated this since b18 fixed the issue (when Ludeon updated the Unity version) and I don't see the issue on 1.2. Let me set up a Mono dev environment and I'll see about updating this for 1.2

Just wanted to point out that on linux, as of Rimworld version 1.2 at least, this is STILL required when using mods. I don't know if this is due to a regression in Unity or what.

dead thread but

do you know/can you create a fix for when you have something selected (i.e. a wall) itll show as if your mouse is above where it actually is, and it does it too when you're mass selecting somthinhg

Sorry to revive an old thread but is there any chance you could look into another mouse-related problem for the linux community? Namely, when you scroll the mouse wheel to zoom or scroll an open window the game acts as if you are on the opposite side of the screen. As in, if the cursor is on the top half of the screen it will act as if it is in the bottom half and vice versa. This is mostly problematic when scrolling through a list like with Mint Menus by Dubwise as it has an option to convert the architect menu to a different style, though the bug exists without any mods at all.

THANK YOU! Works a treat!

I wonder if you wouldn't mind updating it? Just started playing yesterday, so I'm not the best user to ask. There's a little error saying that it's for an older version, but I see no issues with functionality.

would you add a feature, of switching the middle mouse button and the right mouse button? i find panning with my middle mouse button makes my entire hand hurt a lot, vs right clicking and scrolling. plus i think google maps uses right mouse button more intuitive. Also if i knew how to do it, i would make it so i could set my other mouse buttons to things in the game, then i would really only need my keyboard for like 10 percent of the time. i have spent some time looking around on the web with very little information. (i use windows lol)

@Orpheus I just updated the mod so you can use it on your WIndows system--it was checking if it was being run on Linux and if it wasn't it wouldn't activate. The version I just uploaded will allow you to load it on Windows. I had to override the default mouse handling so the game didn't try to handle panning at the same time. Hope it works for you

This might actually be relevant to some Windows users as well. I use Win8, and since A17 my middle button doesn't reliably pan the map any more (though it doesn't open a menu either), but it works perfectly with all other programs so I know the mouse isn't broken. Not sure if this is specific to my computer or if anybody else is affected, I'll try this mod out and let you know if it helps.
