CIVILIZATION__NiGHTS

Description
Vanilla Version - Gods and Kings version also available on Steam.

Featured on RockPaperShotgun, MaximumPC and 4players, Civ NIghts is a complete conversion modpack for CIV V that adds numerous gameplay mechanics and features. The official sub-forum can be found at: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=450

Bug Fixes
-Delete the contents of your CIV V cache folder and ModUserData folder.
-Have CIV V updated for the latest patch, and delete any old copies of the mod.
-To avoid crashes, DO NOT attempt to play Nights with other mods aside from InfoAddict and IGE.

NOTE: Installing Gods and Kings will result in bugs in the mod, regardless if it is disabled in-game or not. To play the mod WITHOUT bugs, do not purchase Gods and Kings.

Buildings, Units, Traits
-Over 50 new Buildings and Wonders, all with custom artwork.
-Expanded archery line leading towards ranged Grenadiers.
-Dozens of new units complete with new unit models, including Templar and Teutonic Knights,
-New UI for constructed buildings in the city-screen, and additional UI information in the top bar.
-New traits and a unique building for all vanilla CIV V leaders, all with custom artwork.

New Happiness Mechanics
-The first 10 Citizens in each city generate Happiness instead of Unhappiness.
-Natural Wonders within your borders give +5 Happiness.
-Luxuries give +10 Happiness.
-New Cities cost -20 Happiness.
-Military Units cost -5 Happiness.

Barbarians
-All Civilizations can recruit Barbs from camps with a 100% success rate.
-There are now Barb Swordsmen, Spearmen, Archers, Horsemen, and Assassins.
-Barbarians do not contribute Unhappiness like traditional units until upgraded, so recruit them when you can!

Technologies
-Over 30 new technologies, with an all new tech tree that features custom artwork.
-Techs with a science icon in front of them represent either/or tech prerequisites.
-Government techs need to be unlocked for them to be available during cultural revolutions.
-Each Civ starts the game with Despotism, and their choice of an additional tech.

Governments and Revolutions
-As soon as you build your first Wonder, you start accumulating points towards a cultural revolution.
-Points are earned through culture, and boosted 10% by each of your additional Wonder and cultural City-States.
-When you earn a revolution, there is a cool-down period represented by loyalist points towards your previous revolutionary government type that you chose. This is so that 1 Civ can't dominate and get 4-5 in a row, for obvious balance reasons.

Policies
-Over 90+ new policies to unlock, split up over 7 branches in a new user interface.
-All policies are available to be unlocked at the start of the game.
-Each branches sub-policies give bonuses towards any of your active governments earned through revolutions.

Improvements and Yields
-All improvement yields have been substantially increased to be more in line with CIV 4 values.
-Great People improvements are now general Worker improvements, unlocked through the tech tree.
-Customs Houses and Trading Posts grant an additional +1 gold when built directly adjacent to a city.

Diplomacy
-AI is more open to making fair 1 for 1 trades.
-Close borders penalties have been scaled back.
-The AI is quicker to end a war than in vanilla CIV V.
-Warmongering as a diplo penalty has been removed from the game.
-The AI will like you more depending on how many wonders you have built.
-AI quicker to expand, while slower to DoW and denounce over the first 50-100 turns of the game.
-Gandhi will probably be friendly when you first meet him, Montezuma will be annoyed or hostile.
-Accurate number diplomacy representing internal values included in the tool-tips for why the AI likes/dislikes you.
-Having a Declaration of Friendship will greatly improve the odds of the AI signing and honoring a Defensive Pact.

hey, is there a way to just have the social policies for BNW and that's it?
Wandering Mania 27 Sep, 2019 @ 12:45am
@xxXXKILL99XXxx,
Most likely not. It's been years and years, and still nothing. As much as I had hope for a BNW version, I have given up hope for it.
xxXXKILL99XXxx 27 Sep, 2019 @ 12:11am
will there ever be a BNW version?
Uruk 8 Feb, 2018 @ 6:00pm
No BNW?

I've been waiting for a BNW update my whole life, and I'm willing to wait a lifetime more. Please make it happen. I love you.

i have some info that can help people play with the bugs im experiencing & some info that can help Markusbeutel fix them.i realize my offset icons were caused by the game version i played(Windows 8 touch enabled)i played DX-10 & was fine.but i still had the issue of not seeing the close button so i began to try all the differant res settings hoping it was just off screen.what i found was that some res settings removed the scroll bar in he tech screen aswell.so i made a list of res setting that dont remove my scroll bar these are(1400x1050,1440x900,1680x1050,1600x900,1920x1080,*1280x960,*1280x1024) but the res with * were problems because they cut off policys from the edges of the policy screen(oh and i solved my no close button issue by pressing esc).now the last things that confuse caught my inrest still is i saw the pic of the background for the tech tree and my background is always streched very far down while on the real one i see a normal image and the close button.

Hey i get this bug where my icons for moving,attacking,etc... are offset to the left and my tech tree UI has no close button any ideas on how to fix it?
Wandering Mania 4 Oct, 2016 @ 5:46am
Thanks so much for still working it Markus. CivNights is the best full overhall mod for CivV and I can't stand the vanilla "Artificial Idiots" (AI). But I do love my trade caravans from BnW so hopefully it will be done sooner than 2021.
