Description
A few clever modders discovered that if you make a tropical looking theme inside the *temperate* biome, you get a much better looking world, with a much less yellow... everything!

Inspired by these secretly temperate tropical-looking themes, here is Mossy Mountain, a light weight theme that gives you an improvement in textures over Polynesia 2.0, wrapped in a much clearer, less harsh package since this is based in the temperate biome!

Even more Improved Water and Sea Foam textures, which you will be added soon to other themes by me...

You will find plenty of maps to use this theme for!

It was created for the Paradise Reef Revisited edition (as seen in these screenshots). You can get the map here:
Mass Transit version http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928343350
No DLC version https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1120166479

Update Jun 2021
1. New ruined texture (no more green sand on beaches)
2. Lighting changes
3. Water colors tweaked
4. Improvements in cliff texture, 3D normal now matches cliff

You might be trying to load it onto the wrong environment. This is an annoying limitation of the base game. This theme was made for temperate environment (because of the better visuals).
Get Environment Changer mod by BloodyPenguin. It just flips a switch, turning off that restriction and allowing you to choose any theme for any map and environment. You will then see this and all other themes available to you.
Enjoy your new freedom! :)

Thank you! It's amazing, I'm shocked it wasn't a feature in the base game.

There is, Harry_Robinson1! Use Environment Changer mod by BloodyPenguin. It turns off the restrictions on map themes as well as allowing you to convert a map to another biome.

The lighting may be off a bit and colors a bit different, but using LUTs or visual mods like Relight + Ultimate Eyecandy, you can make fine adjustments to make it look the way you wish.

I wish there was a way to make tropical maps work with this! It's by far the best theme ever.

Hi Oranos, it's using a ruined texture with partial transparency: alpha mask. You can learn lots on how to do this and much more from this guide by hadece https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=875340826&searchtext=theme

Great theme. How did you get the slopes which normally use the ruined texture to still be green while the ruined texture isn't green? Thus allowing for roads and beaches? Mind blown. Trying to recreate something similar. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi @THEWIICHART, it is Paradise Reef Revisited. The link is right above us at the end of the description ^^ ;) That link is for the Mass Transit version, and if you do not have Mass Transit, I published the same map but with normal highways, found here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1120166479

What's the map used? I've been looking through your maps and saw Polynisya or whatever it was called, I liked it but I like this map better, thanks.
