Napoleon at War - Germanic Nations Expansion (V2)

Description
Napoleon at War: Germanic Nations Expansion (NAW-GN) is a Civilization V Modification that allows a player to relive empire building on an even grander scale across Europe in the early nineteenth century. The basic game mod ("Napoleon at War", or NAW) is required to play this expansion. For more information, consult that mod and its associated game manual:

http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=857540676

Playable Civs:
- Electorate of Bavaria, under Prince-Elector Maximilian I
- Kingdom of Denmark-Norway, under King Christian VII
- Landgraviate of Hesse, under Prince-Elector William I
- Holland (Batavian Republic), under First Director Pieter Vreede
- Electorate of Saxony, under Prince-Elector Frederick Augustus
- Kingdom of Sweden, under King Gustav IV
- Switzerland (Helvetic Republic), under General Henri Dufour
- Dukedom of Westphalia, under Archduke Anton Victor

Included Maps:
1. War of the Second Coalition (1799-1802).
NAW-GN simulates managing a European nation during the War of the Second Coalition (1799-1802). This map is similar to the map of the same name in the basic "Napoleon at War" mod. The Germanic Nations have been added, replacing the City States of the same names in the original map. Additionally, all nations are at peace, with the exception of France and the United Kingdom – who remain at permanent war. The game lasts longer than the original 1799 map, to give these smaller kingdoms more time to attempt to compete with their much larger rivals.

2. The Finnish War (1808-1809) NEW This map simulates playing one of the nations involved in the Finnish War of 1808-1809, fought primarily between Russia and Sweden for control of Finland. Denmark-Norway, France, and Prussia are also playable. The UK is also in the game, but due to their limited participation in the war historically, they are not playable. The map demonstrates the difficulties Sweden had in facing an enemy army over three times larger than their own, which was much better equipped and trained.
Features:
* Custom Victory Conditions: Each map has a Custom Victory Condition, based on the needs of the scenario.
- War of the Fifth Coalition: Control the most capitals at the end of the game (turn 260). Major capitals (London, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, and Moscow) count as much toward victory as 5 of the minor capitals, such as Madrid or Rome. If there is a tie, the player with the highest game score wins.
- Finnish War (1808-1809): The player who controls the most of the 12 Swedish Objective Cities wins the game. These cities are: Alvo, Glefe, Halsingors, Hameenlinna, Jakobstad, Lappo, Stockholm, Sundsvall, Tampere, Umea, Uppsala, Vaasa. In case of a tie, the player with the highest game score wins the game.
* Sixteen new buildings (2 unique for each player civ).
* Normal NAW game features, such as National Promotion, Economic Handicap and the modified Tech Tree are used in this mod as well.

TL;DR
* Napoleonic Era struggle to dominate Europe (1799-1804 AD)
* Eight new Player Civs (Bavaria, Denmark-Norway, Hesse, Holland, Saxony, Sweden, Switzerland, and Westphalia), in addition to the original game's seven (Austria, France, Ottomans, Prussia, Russia, Spain, and United Kingdom)
* Sixteen new buildings (2 unique buildings for each new player civ)
* Two new maps:
- Large "Strategic" map: The War of the Second Coalition (revised for GN)
- The Finnish War of 1808

Acknowledgements: This mod is completely built around showing off the great artwork of JFD & janboruta for the civs of Bavaria, Denmark-Norway, Hesse, Saxony, Sweden, Switzerland, and Westphalia. A lot of this artwork is not specifically set in the Napoleonic Era, but as I am not sure how many people would be interested in this mod, I didn't want to put a lot of effort into something I'm not especially good at unless it's needed.

FYI - I've FINALLY found some time to work on the NAW mods. Am working on adding the Battle of Eylau map, and possibly Marengo and/or Ulm to the main NAW mod.

On the expansion mods, I'm also working on the Battle of Dennewitz and a smaller version of the Battle of Leipzig (Germanic Nations), the Peninsular War (Mediterranean Kingdoms), and the Russo-Ottoman War of 1806 (Ottoman World).

The maps are time consuming to build, even more time consuming to test, but I hope to have some more content for the mods release in the next 2-3 weeks. Thanks!

S-Man, if you are still to add some battle to the NAW, I would suggest adding the Battle of Dennewitz to the Germanic Nations. It may be difficult to create with both sides constantly getting reinforcements, but IMO it would also be very interesting to play.

@Lintuperhonen - I made the changes you suggested. Appreciate it.

I've posted the corrected map on civfanatics.com at this link:

https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/the-finnish-war-of-1808-1809-fought-between-russia-and-sweden.26160/

Can download and copy it over to the maps folder as a temporary solution until I get enough changes to build an updated mod.

Thanks again.

Still one spelling, Vaasa was spelt Wasa in the 19th century and is still Vasa in the modern Swedish spelling (about half of the inhabitants of Vasa still have Swedish as their first language).

More spelling suggestions: Idensalmi should be Iisalmi (with two letters i, I have never heard of Idensalmi which probably is a hypercorrection by a Swedish cartographer with a limited knowledge of the Finnish language), Pori should be Björneborg and Tampere should be Tammerfors (with these two, I suggest the Swedih names). However, two hundred years ago Tampere was an insignificant village, even though it nowadays is the second-largest freestanding city in Finland (Espoo / Esbo really is just a conglomeration of suburbs and villages immediately west of Helsinki / Helsingfors).

@Lintuperhonen - thanks for the feedback - I definitely had you in mind when building the map and the code for it. It was difficult to find good data on city sizes, and you're right - the spelling was all over the place on the few maps I could find on the war. Had to "guess" alot putting the map together. Still, it turned out pretty fun to play during testing.

I'll make the corrections in the map and include them in the next release. Any other feedback you have on it is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Otherwise, the Finnish war scenario seems excellent.

I would suggest a few improvements to the map of the Finnish war. First of all, during that period, Åbo (Turku) was the capital and largest town in Finland. It had a direct road connection to Tavastehus (Hämeenlinna), Björneborg (Pori) and Helsingfors (Helsinki). Secondly, in the map, Helsingfors is spelt Halsingors, which is definetely incorrect (but may exist in some foreign maps of the early 19th century).

HELLO! New version is posted. Be sure to replace your current NAW-Germanic Nations map with the 2 maps that are in this version of the mod (v2). Thanks!

@S-Man - No, I meant the Finnish civil war map.
