Darker Nights

Description
This mod adds (not replaces) several new nightime skydomes/Environmental Lighting Maps to both the Tactical and Avenger map. This mod will change the lighting of the tactical map, when these maps are present. Note that this is a separate mod for those who want darker nights.

If you have issues with this mod or spotted a bug, please report it in the Bug Report Thread. If you want to provide feedback, whether its good or bad, then post in the General Feedback Thread.
If you are thinking of downvoting this mod, please provide feedback first, so I know what I should improve on/did wrong.


WHAT THIS MOD ADDS
  • Nightime - Clear and Overcast
  • More Rain maps at Nightime - Heavy Rain and Snow. They contain ambient noises (Rain and Wind).

KNOWN ISSUES
  • The Rain/Snow maps are disabled in the Avenger Basecape view. I'm pretty sure that the rain and snow will clip through the Avenger.

TODO
  • Fix some bugs, if any.
  • Port more skydomes (Nightime Skydomes mostly)
  • Add more weather varieties. (Heavy rain/snow at daytime, Hurricane weather)

COMPATIBILITY
  • It's compatible with all map mods, since it adds (NOT REPLACES) Environmental Lighting maps.

  • CGSkies for the panoramic sky textures.

  • E3245 for assembling the maps and materials for this mod.
  • Robojumper for figuring out post processing, and Color Lookup Tables.

  • Changed the rain chance from 95% to 55%.

  • Changed the rain chance from 30% to 95%. When it rains/snows in the skyranger, more likely than not, it's gonna rain/snow.

  • Fixed a bug where the Particle Systems were referencing an invalid package.

  • Fixed a bug where the skyboxes didn't load, causing the game to load pitch black envmaps with no PP.
  • Brightened up the dark maps a little.

This gets insanely dark. Especially on an OLED. Can hardly see anything XD

I'm with the people saying it's a little too dark, but upping the gamma slider does fix things.

Would it be possible to make it configurable with an ini-parameter how dark the night is? Outside of Cities it is so dark that you have to tilescan the environment to see cover. Essentially you are playing on a black map where everything is invisible. If it was possible to have it not quite as dark and only as dark as in a moonlit night that would be great. Cities should also be not as dark because of street lighting (apart from abandoned cities where there is no street lighting).

In Ufo - Enemy Unknown you could counter night conditions by throwing flares (or setting the landscape on fire). This is not possible in this game so I would prefer it if is not quite as dark.

Currently it is too dark for me to use this mod which is a shame because I very much like the weather changes.

I would makeout with this mod if I could. Use with a flashlight mod for maximum effect.
