Resistance Warfare Ranks

Description
STANDARD XCOM 2 VERSION - not for WOTC

War of the Chosen DLC version: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1123970618

This mod changes the default ranks in original XCOM 2 to be more appropriate to a future resistance movement.

Consider it an alternative to being a paramilitary force. Now you can send in a squad of Resistance Commandos to torch the area or have a Hero lead your team to glory.

Ranks are now:

Rookie
Specialist - (formerly Squaddie)
Veteran - (formerly Corporal)
Shocktrooper - (formerly Sergeant)
Operator - (formerly Lieutenant)
Commando - (formerly Captain)
Elite - (formerly Major)
Hero - (formerly Colonel)
Legend - (formerly Brigadier)

The last rank will only be used if you are using Long War 2 or Pavonis Perks and Classes Pack.

This lightweight mod only affects the XComGame.int file - section: [X2ExperienceConfig]

It works with Alien Hunters & Shens Last Gift DLC, also with Long War 2.

How to change the Ranks to anything using this mod

To set your own rank titles, navigate to this mods install folder within your Steam directory:
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\909714383\Localization

Open the XcomGame.int file with Notepad and change the titles as you wish. Make sure you keep the quotation marks. Save & close.

The mod has a light one-time script which will apply your new Rank names when loading the game.

I quite like the new Psi Ranks, but the original ones never bothered me too much as typically my Psi Operatives only go on 1 or 2 missions on Legendary before the Tower Assault.

Hi Miguel, I have added instructions on how to change the Ranks yourself to the mod description above. It's really simple and can be done safely mid-game.

I may need to update the mod script when War of the Chosen comes out in late August. If I do then any update pushed out by me will overwrite your changes back to default, but you can simply change it again to how you like. :ethereal:

boisegangpc would love to have those changes on my game as well, how does one changes those? total noob here... but would like to change the ranks, way to official for a rag tag team of irregular subversive fighters... and really, nothing like having a living legend of the resistance on the field ;)

I really feel Veteran and Operator should switch places, having a veteran at your first rank makes no scene. I changed it for myself but other than that I love these ranks thanks.
