Description
Roll out the Hachikomas! These light, omnidirectional rolling drones were the first line of attack deployed by the corporations of Earth against the rebel-miners of Mars. Hachikoma design worked great on flat or urban battlefields of Earth, but it proved difficult to put its immense firepower to optimum use over the broken landscape of Mars.

Nevertheless, they are cheap to manufacture and can traverse rough terrain with ease, disrupting mining and production operations in a large area. Moreover, the autopilot feature enables a single battle-engineer to remotely and safely control multiple units.

-----------------
Hey I’ve written a science fiction novel called "Janitors of the Late Space Age" inspired by Space Engineers. Summer is here, if you are looking for something to read - get it from Amazon as electronic or paperback edition, it’s cheap:

------------------

Hachikoma can direct immense firepower but has limited angle of elevation. It is best used against bigger targets. This combat vehicle can ride over any terrain and quickly change direction. In fact it can move in every direction and even strafe, very useful around buildings.

Each unit can be remotely operated as a drone or piloted in person. If you set some waypoints (note that you should set them at the height of Hachikoma’s remote control) it can patrol an area without your supervision.

Role: Base patrol, Assault, Urban control

Armor:
Composite, but consider this a lightly armored vehicle

Weapons:
Machinegun turret, Missile turret, 4 machineguns, rocket launcher

Mobility:
Omnidirectional drive - gyro and thruster assisted

Upgrades: Replace the Seat with the small cockpit if you are a sissy.

No scripts or mods were used.

Stay tuned for other no-BS vehicles in this growing collection:

@sdf166 - it also has two turrets that auto-aim. But the fixed guns... yeah... they don't work well in serious PVP.

1st: hovercrafts/glide wheels are the one of the best inventions to come to space engineers

2nd: Just wondering, how combat effective is this ship while in "sentry mode", I doesn't seem like much, considering its fixed weapons need an operator to use.

@Megakole - Projectors can't project blueprints with pistons or rotors, sadly. Maybe you can paste this thing in creative and make your personal blueprints for top and another one for bottom. Then you can create these two separately in survival and connect them.

@Dark TIE - Cool! I hope the gliding wheels stay with us for a long time.

Hey, pachi! I spawned this vehicle in front of Xocliw in his Friday stream! He said that this was the best use of wheels!

It seems the atmo-thruster damage is implemented now. The issue has been fixed by repositioning the thrusters. Hachikoma should be operational now.
