Description
Dawnguard is required for this mod.

This mod fixes two problems with vampires that I found annoying.

The first one is how the vampires are a bit unbalanced, the only upside being a resistance to Frost. Oh, you're a Nord, where frost attacks to squat to you anyway? Sucks to be you.
So now, along with a resistance to frost, Vampires get a fortification to destruction, and a small resistance to everything.

The second one is the stages of Vampirism. I think it's kind of odd that vampires get stronger when they don't feed, the only consequence being that the sun hurts more. Vampires have to constantly feed to survive, so why did the game encourage scarce feeding. In what universe does ANYTHING get stronger by starving itself?
So I switched it up. You start out the strongest you can be, but get weaker the longer you go without feeding.

So, here's the end result.

Stage 1:
50% frost resist.
30% destruction fortification
10% resistance to all damage.
20% fire weakness.
Health, Magicka, and Stamina recover <75%> slower while in Sunlight.
Health, Magicka and Stamina are reduced 15 points when in sunlight

Stage 2:
40% frost resist.
20% destruction fortification
5% resistance to all damage.
30% fire weakness.
Health, Magicka, and Stamina recover <90%> slower while in Sunlight.
Health, Magicka and Stamina are reduced 30 points when in sunlight

Stage 3:
30% frost resist.
10% destruction fortification
40% fire weakness.
Health, Magicka, and Stamina don't recover in sunlight.
Health, Magicka and Stamina are reduced 45 points when in sunlight.

Stage 4:
20% frost resist.
50% fire weakness.
Health, Magicka, and Stamina don't recover in sunlight.
Health, Magicka and Stamina are reduced 60 points in sunlight.
You catch on fire in sunlight.

This mod does NOT change the stages at which you get vampire powers yet, but it dows make some of the powers usable more than once a day.

NOTE: If you're already a vampire when you get this mod, you'll have to go to a different stage of vampirism before the mod takes effect.

IS compatible with mods that make the vampire lord and such stronger and such.

BloodyDove sometimes its affecting a game negatively, the more realistic something is. Imagine in a Shooter that you'd have to go to a hospital for days everytime you got shot. Or take all games where u can carry way more than a human could actually carry.

See sometimes the more realistic games get, it's likewise more negativly impacting the game. And this is the same reason why there are so many Vampire mods. We all played the Vanilla already and now it is basically only enjoyable with mods like these.

Ps: Im not even using this exact mod here, just wanted to make this clear in general.

theres hundreds of types of vampires from folklore and mythology from around the world. With most european vampire myths, vampires definitely do get stronger the longer they go without feeding. They usually become more beastial and/or insane the longer between feeding though, and of course the starving and succeptability to their weaknesses grow in concert.

Skyrim did European vampires right actually.

Vampirism is a curse that forces you to feed on blood. If you feed on blood, the curse lies dormant, allowing you to pass as human/mer. If you do not feed, the curse will drive you to madness and extreme bloodlust, while also growing stronger to force you to feed.

In short, you grow stronger because the curse is forcing you to feed, not because its "backwards".

I was unable to feed off anybody (neither sleeping nor seduced people) which made everybody attack me on sight. Anyone else have this problem?

lorewise it makes since they get stronger, because that blood rage and feral instinct takes over the higher function of the vampire's mind. think of it this was are feral creatures as strong or stronger then the normal versions of? of course they are.

I've found a little bug which implies that you do not have the Embrace of Shadows and Vampire's seduction when you're the strongest, only when you're the weakest.
I do not know if there is a bug in the system or if it was planned in the mod.
I personally do not like it, having the strongest powers when you are weak is a big minus for me. Otherwise it's a wonderful mod that I thought it would be in the original.
To be On Fire and everything else is brilliant. I love your job with this mod but i have to take it down from my mod list. :-(
I do hope that you see this message and can do something about it.
