Fix for Frame Pacing / Stuttering.
By Mkilbride
So we all know the game isn't as smooth as it should be by now. Well, an old trick seems to help with wildly erratic frame times.

Basically using RivaTuna / MSI AFterburner, you force a 59FPS or 60FPS cap - this is despite the V-Sync being on in game. Let me show you.

Notice how it's like a seismograph? That is not normal in games. That is the sign of bad V-Sync.

It doesn't fix cutscenes sadly, but it's a MAJOR improvement to the general smoothness of the game. It's a locked 16.66 Frame-time with this, instead of randomly 14, 15, then 18, ect. Which causes the micro-stutter.

If you use Steam Controller or Steam DS4 support, it won't work with MSI Afterburner - Unless you do what I say below.

****************************
To make it so you can use MSI Afterburner, without having to turn it on and off with DS4 / Steam Controller, follow this advice:

Delayed injection engine is configured inside .\ProfileTemplates\Global file in RTSS folder. 64-bit Steam overlay can be added there as necessary: InjectionDelayTriggers = IGO64.dll,GameOverlayRenderer64.dll

> Global file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\ProfileTemplates. Search for InjectionDelayTriggers = IGO64.dll and then add ,GameOverlayRenderer64.dll. Exit/re-open Afterburner/RivaTuner after editing the Global file.>

16.66 VS constantly changing. Much smoother than default.

This seems to work when set within FAR.

RivaTuner is automatically installed with MSI AFterburner.

This actually worked for me, thank you! Just adding a few things for clarity for those who are confused:

You need both RivaTuner Statistics Server and MSI Afterburner.

RivaTuner Statistics Server [www.guru3d.com] (Just download and install, its safe, don't worry)

MSI Afterburner [www.msi.com] (Under the "Downloads" tab)

-----------

Once you have both programs on your pc, open up RivaTuner Statistics Server and set the fps cap to 60 . https://i.imgur.com/CF9sxBt.png

You can also had NieRAutamata as an application, but I think it doesn't matter.

Next, go into MSI Afterburner, in the Settings > Monitoring tab > You can scroll down in the "Active hardware monitoring graphs" and click on the "Framerate" checkmark. Then towards the bottom click on "Show in On-Screen Display" . You can do this with multiple settings. https://i.imgur.com/58D5bJk.png

I don't understand because I don't know a lot english :( but... You're saying if I force 59-60 fps cap, I will have 16.66 fps more, its ok?

NVIDIA Inspector could be work for this (to force 60 fps).
