Looks can indeed be deceiving, and NieR:Automata is a prime example of this adage.

Behind its sleek exterior lies an emotional roller-coaster that seamlessly weaves together engaging storytelling, stunning character design, and a musical score that enhances every moment of the game's atmosphere.

Emotionally charged moments punctuate the narrative, propelled by scenarios that challenge the characters’ understanding of freedom, purpose, and existence. This journey bravely delves into heavy themes while unveiling shocking twists and heartbreaking revelations. It's a narrative that oscillates between intimate character moments and grand philosophical questions, offering a uniquely compelling experience that transcends the typical struggles between androids and machines, instead inviting players to reflect on the essence of life itself.

Furthermore, NieR: Automata introduces a truly innovative feature where players can choose to delete their save file as a gesture of support to unknown players who may be facing similar challenges. Opting to sacrifice your progress in this manner leaves a lasting impact, visually represented by a changed title screen—a poignant reminder of the noble sacrifice made in the name of compassion.
This game's beauty is so captivating that I was compelled to platinum it.
Nier Automata earns a solid 10/10 from me and stands as an absolute must-play title.

surprisingly there is more than android ass

I was really looking forward to this game - I had it on my wishlist for a while.
Now I can't really recommend it to anyone.

TL;DR:
- Combat gets repetitive after about 3h of campaign, mostly due to ambitious number of enemies - about 6 enemies are in the game on the hack and slash part (those 6 enemies are also slighty changed versions of 2 enemies), on the bullet hell part there's... 1 really.
- Open world was probably made only for marketing - it's empty and extremely uninspiried. Buildings look copy and pasted all over. Most engaging thing to do in it is saving in dedicated spots.
- As in any self-respecting jRPG, side quests are dreadful to do. You want anything interesting? Please carry something from Point A to Point B :D
- Story and characters are quite ridicolous. I get main characters are controlled robots, but constant whining between 2B and 9S gets tiring quickly. Later "antagonists" motivation are... there? They just... happen. They show up from nowhere, and suddenly, you get an ending!
- RPG system could be as well not added. It brings 0 value.
- I can't shake off a feeling that main selling point of this game and why people like it so much is 2B private parts. Which are flashed in your face every time you move with her. In every cutscene as well.

I get that not every game is for everyone, but this game in my opinion is fundamentally flawed.
I really wanted to like it, but game design kills it for me.

The game probably has good story. But I was looking at 2B's ass half the time.

Definitely worth playing, but only until ending A... After that, I recommend watching all the endings on YouTube and moving on. Because for me, there's nothing left interesting "gameplay-wise" for me to play the game after the first ending; 9S's gameplay is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring...

Good game. I've only finished part 1 of 5 (I think) and I'm eager to play more. It has at least 4 different gameplay styles in it and switches almost seamlessly between them.

One of the most bland games I have ever played, my expectations were pretty high due to everyone's praises.
Lets start with the worst; Combat when you are playing 'normally' with 'normal' camera it is bearable, its a solid 7/10 you spam dodge and counter attack BUT when the game goes 2D its pretty impossible to visibly select where your character is since my companion looks pretty much the same. It is very unfun to play as the game loves trolling with camera angles, seriously you never get to play 'normally' it NEEDS to be quirky it NEEEDS to be all the genres when fighting a singular boss, Top down, 2D,3D, isometric, side scroller let them come, jack of all trades master of NONE. Trash
Difficulty: Easy literally plays for you, Normal is piss easy, Hard one shots. Why? Because you have access to 99 healing items from the beginning of each TYPE which means you get 99 25% heal, 99 50% heal 99 75% heal. which essentialy lets you heal for full 148 times in a single fight. So if the game want to make it challenging it should restrict your access to healing, right? RIGHT? no, on HARD everything oneshots and its stupidly hard until it doesnt one shots you once you get access to good chips, then it becomes piss easy.
Story: I have played Replicant first and I cant believe how bad the story is compared to replicant its just hilarious, it revolves around 9S saying damn, these machines are so dumb and they have no emotions unlike we androids huh? 2B: Yes lets kill them. 9S: Holy ♥♥♥♥ these machines have feelings afterall just like us androids. And that sums up the story, characters have no personalities whatsoever as well I dont understand the praise. I would be impressed if this was my first post apocalyptic media I have seen or if I was 11 years old but I am not and the story sucks ass, what a downgrade from replicant.
The good,Music and ass?: OST is such a banger, I love it. The only trait our main character has, having a good ass.
Overall:5.5/10 but I would give it 2 personally since I was very hyped up about it and ended up VERY disappointed. Oh also if you dont have a controller dont even bother with this game.
