The UCCS Tengo is a Gao IV class medium bulk freighter, owned and operated by a private contractor. She is typical of her model, being a modest 220m in length and hauling several million kg of cargo.

Prior to her current name, the Tengo was once the Braxebury, the Nolan, the Ishi-Maru, the Yong Si Wen, the Dora and the IX-455-F. She takes her current name from a popular Net show character from her current captain’s childhood.

I tried my best to max out the details on this one!

The whole point of this build was to construct something abient, invoking imagery of all those wonderful hulks of the space horror genre I love. Long corridors, dark rooms, bottomless chasms and lots of ambient lighting. Inspired by a half dozen different ships from the background of some colorful 80's sci fi anime. Also maybe a key.

Totally vanilla!

I highly reccomend lighting mods to make shadows darker for this ship.

Among the Tengo’s many misadventures:

-Appeared briefly among the local traffic in the background of the popular music video for the song “REDWING” by the band of the same name, being filmed on location at Apache Station (famed for its 600-meter-wide viewport). The appearance is accidental however, as at the time the captain was involved in a heated argument with a port official over a docking zone payment.

-Illegally parked in the reserved docking port of a port official at Apache station, exiting system before charges were made. Class B misdemeanor under Vogar system jurisdiction.

-Asked politely to leave orbit around Dovian 6 by the Galactic Ecology Research Committee, after her first mate’s jettisoned trash entered the atmosphere and caused a stir among the planet’s primitive denizens

-A participant in the Garu-Kunari system’s annual Asteroid Derby. Came in 12th place. Crew awarded one free pizza for participation.

-Her crew’s entry into the talent show for a charity gala around Meridian unintentionally involved a comet. Needless to say, it was unintentionally spectacular.

-Through an unusual series of events involving a lost child, a misplaced work order and the ship’s cat, the Tengo ended up as part of the (orbital)airshow during planet Kolox’s Independence Day celebrations, nearly ramming three fighters, a vintage colony ship and a battlecruiser.

-Terrified the entire Aranamina royal family after cutting off their yacht while looking for an open docking port

-Shipped 1461 live puppies safely to the colony on Nadius. The descendants of said puppies are now a major part of the planet’s ecosystem.

-To date, the only ship on record to ever accidentally de-orbit a fast food restaurant.
