Holy Roman Empire Map v.2

Description
Map of the Holy Roman Empire at its greatest extent. The area covered contains modern day Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and much of Poland, France, and Italy.

The Holy Roman Empire was a loose confederation of Germanic states that lasted from 800 CE to 1806 CE. While it was never a united state in any way, it did have a common emperor and dominated medieval politics in Europe. The Scenario for this map is based around 1400-1444 and has 7 playable nations:
- Rome (Papal states)
- France (Burgundy)
- Holland
- Germany (Brandenburg)
- Denmark
- Austria
- Venice
In addition to 41 city states, ranging from one city minors to 4 city powers.

Choose your allies and your enemies wisely. Use diplomacy, influence, or force to unite the numerous states of the HRE under your sway!

(Note: This is still an early version of the map, if you find anything out of place or glitched, please let me know. I've been having issues loading the Scenario, let me know if you experience the same problem. Don't get too triggered if I didn't place a city or river 100% accurately, civ isnt very flexible when it comes to that stuff.)

UPDATED:
- Players now start with 2 workers.
- Most of the map revealed for the 7 playable nations.
- Gave all city-states same starting army as players (2 spearmen)
- Austria nerfed a bit by reducing their gold income, as their 'Royal Marriage' ability is very good for this scenario.

You may have to take the map file out of the mod folder and put it in your maps folder.

I can't find the mod folder for civ5, so i can't transfer the map file.
or is this mod not working anymore?

Why are so many citystates merged togetger? Ulm demands independence!

How the hell file size is that small?
Seems suspicious to me

That sounds promising - I will throw in one more potential civ for you to take a look at, as this "nation" skirts the period of time you're working with.

It's the Duchy of Milan which is yet an other modded civ by the hands of JFD - however, I've read that the AI is not handling this civs' UA very well, but in the hands of a human player the Duchy of Milan apparently can snowball quite a lot - and then some!

If you think it's worth your time, take a look at this civ and make your own judgement wether it fits your scenario or not ...

Ill figure out how to add them in, thanks for the suggestions! Currently, I'm thinking of adding Bohemia, Teutons, Hungary, Switzerland, and replacing Re-skinned france and rome with Burgundy and Papal States. This will actually free up a bunch of city states, so i can make the center of the HRE a bit more indepth.

Well, I didn't remember correctly - the JFD version of Bohemia is more of a City-State friendly civ, so that would actually work well within your scenario ...

I can see your point of view with regards to Brandenburg, so in that respect the Teutons will make more sense than Denmark and Bohemia, as the latter is more of a cultural player as far as I remember the traits.

Forgot to tell you in my first post that I very much like your approach to this scenario as an alternative to the Into The Renaissance scenario by the original game developers in which the Austrians are also horribly OP, btw :steamhappy: ...

Ill look into adding the Teutons and possibly Bohemia and Hungary. I know that the Danes weren't ever a part of the HRE, but I put them in to act somewhat as a counter to Brandenburg. If I add Teutons or Bohemians, I will remove Denmark.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but you have made a giant mistake in adding Denmark to the HRE - the Danes have never been a part of the HRE, although some of the Danish Kings in this period of time did make oaths of fidelity towards some emperors, but that was partly 1) in order not to get militarily steam-rolled by the HRE; 2) in order to gain military advantages towards the Hanse with whom Denmark had a heavily heated rivalry during those years and to a lesser degree Sweden.

As a replacement for Denmark I'll suggest you make use of one the nations that Ivenend_Zwei833 has mentioned, Bohemia or the Teutonic Order - maybe even JFD's Hungary, just to keep the potential Austrian monster on a leash ...

Why not add some custom civs into the scenario? For example JFD's Bavaria, Saxony, Prussia, Switzerland would be good choices.
