German Tank Museum

Description

If you like this mod, please rate, favorite and comment. It keeps me from losing interest in the game because I know that my work is appreciated. Thank you.

NOTICE: I have gotten reports of there being several errors with the photo stand tokens. Please help me fix this issue by copying the links that are shown and put them in a comment here. I cannot fix this without your help! Thank you!

Welcome to the Museum of German Tanks!

Here you will find a collection of full tracked fighting vehicles from World War 1 to the Cold War era, in 1:35 scale.

This is meant as both an actual museum and resource for wargamers.

Not all tanks are included at this point and some models are only mockups - but I will make more as I get time and feel like it.

If you want to see a particular vehicle in the next update or have a suggestion for a completely new vehicle to add just write a comment and I will make that one a priority.

Includes a few models of different authors. If you want to be credited, leave a comment with a link to the original workshop mod.

ATTENTION: This mod has a ton of high-detail objects in it. It might not run well on low end computers.

UPDATE: Fixed a few display photos and added a few vehicles. Thanks to Itkatsu.

UPDATE2: Added many modern German army vehicles!

UPDATE3: Added several new vehicles and another info stand.

UPDATE4: By request, added new model for Hetzer with several paint options. If you get any file errors, please show me the links so I can fix them!

UPDATE5: Added early version Marder III.

UPDATE6: Added Leopard 2 A6.

UPDATE7: A lot of the broken tokens of the historical photos for each tank have been fixed, big thanks to Smile the Exiled.

UPDATE8: Added Pzkpfw. T-34 747 (r)

UPDATE9: Finally the Wirbelwind has gotten a proper model and the ugly placeholder was removed.
UPDATE9.1: Fixed some more files. Again thanks to Smile.

UPDATE 10: Added Panther Ausf. D, VK3002DB and the mysterious Typ 245.

UPDATE 11: Added Neubaufahrzeug.

UPDATE 12: Fixed a bunch of broken files. Thanks to Allu, B.Sc.

UPDATE13: Fixed some broken images. Thanks to packrat1984.

UPDATE 14: Added a new StuG III Ausf. F model. High detail models can be found in the chest behind the regular one, but they drop FPS drastically for some reason. Use at your own risk!

UPDATE 15: Added E-100. Go thank Miep for being persistent!

Miep, do you plan to use it for wargaming in some form? Or something else?

Any chance of getting an E100 model included in this? Would really like to have one.

Hey RedConcsript, that was one of my first mods. All that there is to it really is that you import the turret and hull of the tank separately. Make sure that the hull is at the coordinate origin of the 3D editor while you export. For the turret, the center of the turret ring should be at the coordinate origin, otherwise the turret will turn weirdly. And then once you have it in game you can attach the turret to the hull via hinge joint. Though I personally advise against that due to some problems it can create. I hope this helps, let me know if you got more questions.

(2/2) On a more direct player level: as global awareness of the cosmic horrors increases (raising it is one of the core player objectives in this modded campaign), aid becomes more readily available. For characters with the right passports/diplomatic credentials, this can also mean receiving "special weapons" from the relevant factions. Each character may only hold one special weapon at a time (incentivising character rotation in this very lengthy campaign). Special weapons become available in stages: M3 Grants and T-26s are in stage 1 for example, M60s & T-54s in stage 5. These special weapons are typically devastating & OP by vanilla game standards, especially because you add their value to regular weapons, instead of having to choose. This balances the increased difficulty level of the mod compared to vanilla EH.

Here's an example (2 screenshots):

Do you need the URLs for the broken models? If so let me know and I'll take a look this afternoon!
More than happy to share screenshots, esp. once the game actually gets going, but I can already show you a few from my WIP. How familiar are you with Eldritch Horror? Given the character count limit here, it's not the best place for lengthy explainers! But the fundamental idea is that there's a strategic layer of wargaming (which we simulate) that happens independently of the players, though they can impact it, and are impacted by it in return. They're trying to stop the cultists from awakening eldritch horrors, but when/if war breaks out, it distracts humanity from this purpose - while also however increasing the availability of stuff that goes boom. Vice versa if players prevent the war, there will be more aid at hand, but weapons/tanks/planes will be developed later and be much slower and more difficult for them to procure (1/2, continuing in the next comment).

It's probably the photos again, those links die every now and again.

Well, let me see what I can do about those. I'd love to see some screenshots of your game if you are willing to share them.

BTW, forgot to address your first question, sorry. I checked, and it's a little weird: I get a bunch of warnings about custom models not loading, but every vehicle that's supposed to be there seems to load without issues, so I'm not sure what that's about. I do suspect these are some of the IRL photographs (Tiger II P and Jagdtiger for example) but I'm not exactly sure what else could be in there. I'm going to bed now, but I'll give it another look tomorrow if it helps.

Cheers!

Yes, we'd use them. What we're doing (mad as it sounds) is combine a highly modded Eldritch Horror campaign (greater RPG/narrative focus) w/a wargaming scenario. The Lovecraftian events of EH are placed in the 30s, with the war providing both obstacles and opportunities to the players. Your mods have contributed so much to this.

And yes you're right, it's a turreted Jagdtiger with Vampir system attached (finding manual props to attach to models already in-game has proven surprisingly difficult for me!). And I think at least part of the E-75 turret is from that E-79 yes. I'll never understand why that game did that. Do you remember the jet-engined Jpz with the French name? Lmao.

In any case, up to you man, you've already done god's work with this mod. We just wouldn't have, say, Dicker Max, or SU-122, without you. If you do decide to go ahead with these two speculative models, let me know if there's anywhere I can send you a donation at least: work like this shouldn't go unrewarded.
