National Wonder: The Modern Olympic Games
Available at Radio
- Adds 2 culture
- Adds 3 happiness
- Adds two Great Artist slots
- Counts as a Stadium in the city it is constructed
- Requires a Broadcast Tower in the host city


Requires Gods and Kings Expansion


Changelog:
Version 2: Converted Modern Olympic Games into a National Wonder on the advice of MunchkinLord. Also added the requirement that the host city needs a broadcast tower.

This is a good idea, but I think the images should be changed to something more representative of a building.

I dont know for the World Wonder: The Olympic Games but for the modern one the city must be on a hill. From the city construction list you forgot to write it in the text.

Maybe it should be, +1 happiness to host per civ in the game and +1 happiness to each civ, I think that would better represent the spirit of the games.

Well, the only problem I can see is that when playing in the more difficult advanced levels, colosseums are usually needed, and a lot quicker to build than the Olympic Games Wonder, to keep the population happy. Kind of a little too early, a little too late thing.
I don't see how this works as the Olympic Games is part of the World Congress/U.N. proposals. Not to mention that host city would need broadcast tower that can't be built until late game.

I have a new idea for the modern olympic games wonder where, instead of the player only reciving happiness and culture, the builder gets the wonder to count as a stadium but all civs in the game recieve 3 happiness.The olympic games available at construction should have the same builder-only benifits. I'm no modder, and I realize this may be hard, but it's just an idea.

yeah this mod should have like quest from city states that want u to place spies in to rig the game and it will add citizen happiness but depending where it is it can have a certain amount of local city unhappiness....and the games will make a peace treaty for however long the games last....

It should add a negative happiness, but pluses to commerce, maybe only allow it to be built after the original Olympic Games is present, and after all cities have a market or equivalent?
