Increased Damage

In 1 collection by SomethingRetarded
Some Retard's Difficulty+ and Standalone Addons
6 items
Description
You do not need Difficulty+ for this to work (but the damage may seem rather excessive if you don't have it).
This works with mod weapons so as long as they don't change the damage scale. This also works with Alternate Armor Scale.

So what does this do? You, wildlife/monsters, and NPCs will all deal much more damage (about 1.67x more than what is used in Difficulty+). This also increases the upper limit of damage from 1,000 to 1,000,000*. That being said, unless you want to completely plough through everything I recommend grabbing Difficulty+.

A word of warning: the game will be less forgiving about you getting hit. The game might also become a bit unbalanced, favoring ranged combat more than melee.

*Important Note
This no longer increases the upper limit of damage, as that was moved to a mod of its own (Difficulty+ already has this built in).
If you do not use Difficulty+, then I recommend getting my Damage Cap Begone! mod.

hello, this mod was working perfectly fine for a long time, but inexplicably has stopped working. the only mod i have that affects damage scaling is suppers combat overhaul, but i had it installed while Increased Damage was working. have you had any problems like this and if so, how can i fix it?

what's the hud used in the first screenshot?

the damage multiplier is not roughly two, I've checked the files. It looks like tier 0 in vanilla is listed as 0.5, and in damage+ it's 5.0

from there on it scales by around +1.2 per level, where vanilla scales by adding 0.5 per level. I can't really recommend this mod alone for people who are using armor augments or have other ways (like tech) to increase their damage further, as endgame becomes a little too easy if you specialize into damage. With the author's permission I'll release my own version of the mod with toned down damage and differently scaled progression, to make early game still frantic, and keeping monster damage always at your level, but with increased health values the further up in tiers you go.

This mod is perfect. I literally have to use doors and blocks as cover to not get my head blown off

Also snipers and shotgunners are so terrifying now

Still worked as of 1.4 and finally it makes combat far less tedious (due to tanky wildlife and enemies in vanilla) and weapons feels like actual weapons now. As a tradeoff (and a nice one), you can tank far less damage early-game, so stock up on armors, weapons, medical items, and get good.

@Antics
Not currently. I no longer have the files I was using to calculate D+ and I don't remember what the variables originally were. I'm working on a new version of D+, called Difficulty Overhaul, which should be released soon. If Starbound would stop fighting me, it would be more modular than D+ or NE.

i find the damage to be a tiny bit over the top for me even though i use D+, any option for a 1.2x multiplier for damage instead?

Here you go http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=879401397
You could also use Alternative Armor Scale if you want, as it also has the damage cap change built in.
Nomad 2 Mar, 2017 @ 10:24am
Could you make a version that only uncaps damage?
I'd like to deal more than 1k, but with this mod it's just too much for me ^^
