I'm confused. I immediately portaled to the top of the center tower, put the cube up there on the button which opened the doors to the interior allowing me to jump down to the one-button side where I put the cube in there on the single button which spawned the lightbridges. I then portaled back up to the top and jumped down to the left bridge and walked out the exit! Didn't use anything but those two cubes. It doesn't seem like that was the intended solution.
