Balanced Vault (No Vault Walls!)

Descripción
Balanced Vault (No vault walls)

The purpose of this mod is to restrict the use of vaults as walls and to also increase the cost so that they are not spammed all over the place. A vault should have 1 purpose
and 1 purpose only - that is to protect your most valuable blueprints, gear, and resources.

The mod itself is safe and stackable as it adds a new engram (Balanced Vault) rather than overwriting and replacing the default ark vault.

This vault still holds the same amount (150 slots) and has the same health as a default vault (50,000 HP) but it is the size of a large gun safe and costs considerably more to
make.

The costs alone will help deter them being used for walls as their costs have gone up more than 10x, however I have added more placement checks so that they can't be placed so
close together. Both of these will make it very difficult for someone to effectively use them as wall.

Behemoth walls were fixed a while back since people were using them for cheap walls so now its time for the vault to be fixed.

Resource cost changes:
  • 1000 Metal ingots
  • 600 Cementing paste
  • 300 Oil
  • 1500 Polymer

Placement check changes:
Horizontal checks to placement mean that a width larger than a player is needed between each vault so that it can't be used as a wall. This means it can't be placed next to
other structures which some people might consider a bug but it is a design decision to further deter wall building.

New model that is completely paintable to aid in resource management

Spawn code:
cheat giveitem "/Game/Mods/BalancedVault/PrimalItemStructure_BalancedVault.PrimalItemStructure_BalancedVault" 1 0 0

Craftable inside the default fabricator!

To remove the default vault engram add the following into your gameusersettings.ini file:

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_StorageBox_Huge_C",EngramLevelRequirement=65,EngramPointsCost=30,EngramHidden=True,RemoveEngramPreReq=True)

On second inspection it seems that wasnt the intended purpose for it anyway, oops.

It doesnt seem to be able to fit inside doorframes.

GooberGrape, unfortunately I can't add things to S+ structures as that is a seperate mod. I will be adding the vault to the default fabricator in an update pretty soon and will also look at more checks to make it even harder to stack/make walls.

No solution will be perfect but it should be a major deterant so people will look elsewhere for easy base defense.

Yes you can still drop them down and that isn't probably something I'd want to change since having a floating vault can be used in more exploitative ways than trying to stack them by dropping them from ceilings.

The main goal for this mod was to drastically reduce the feasibility of using them as a wall by increasing their cost by nearly 10x, reducing the size to be more in line with a gun safe, and to put placement checks into place to make people have to spend more time to put together a wall.

Its not perfect, but I think it has enough downsides now that people will just abuse s+ structures or layering to the extreme.

As goober saids, still able to make walls out of it. Gonna have to have them hover in place and not drop. and extend that proxy check further out and vertical if possible.

You build them on cielings above the limit then drop them down. Just like regular vaults

I wonder if they drop like regular vaults.. You build scaffolding and drop them in alignment.
Goober 19 ENE 2017 a las 8:08
can you add it to the S+ fabricator?
