Description
I've made a new version It's Available here: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=842724116
V2.0 should work better and work with more mods.
when people have made the switch I'll remove these old versions.

My Attempt at makeing fighter bays a viable option.

All fighters have had their flight speeds increased and all bays now take 40 space.

Fighters have two guns and fly as packs of 6 with a range of 120.

Bombers use overloaded torpedos and fly in packs of 5 with a range of 100.

Heavy fighters have both two guns and a torpedo and fly in packs of 4 with a range of 110.

Missles have had their ranges and speeds adjusted.
ranges: / speeds:
Nuke: 75 / 11
Merculite 85 / 13
Pulson 95 / 15
Zeon is 105 / 17

To offset the missle speed change the Point defence modifier was adjusted slightly the cooldown is now 50% faster VS 25% and the Accuracy is now +33% VS +25%

Built and tested on version 54.11
JAN10 2017, @2052...Compatablity update... got rid of the extra data...

I made a early game Gun that helps fill in the point defence weapons in the early game, and gives the fighters about a 30% boost in damage between the mass driver and getting the bombers.

Mostly- so i could check that changes were applied when i was building the mod...

But the way I saw it was-
The reseachers designed a fancy light weight space interceptor, made it go as far as they could as fast as it could... a few years later some fighter mechanic said "Hey maybe we can get one of these fighters to carry these fancy new torpedos!". and they straped this big, clunky single-shot torpedo tube on, but the launcher was so heavy the acceleration was way to slow to get away from the enemy ship after it fired. after stripping everything they could they got it to Almost the same acceleration, But it still burned more fuel so couldn't reach quite the range...
years later when it came time to upgrade the bombers, they started from scratch again and were able to get a ship that filled both roles better than either could alone, at the price of being a bit bigger... and so the heavy fighter was born...

Why do fighters have more range than bombers? It should be reversed.

I'm working on a 5x (V2.1.1) compatible version as I like a lot about that mod...
