Improved Siege Warfare

Description
Welcome to the Improved Siege Warfare!
With this mod I aim to make sieges more realistic and challenging.
All of the tests you see on the screenshots were conducted under the same conditions to ensure a fair test and comparison.

-Ladders are now easier to set ablaze, so you will either have to rush them to the walls quickly and often use higher quality troops to do so in order to take the walls, or wait a turn or 2 to build some siege towers
-Onagers can now one-shot wooden watchtowers
-Arrow Towers fire twice as fast
-Wooden gatehouses are now twice as hard to set ablaze
-Good luck trying to burn brazen gates now

The tests were conducted in the following manner
Ladder test:
1 unit of standard hellenic archers firing flaming arrows
Watchtower test:
1 unit of standard hellenic onager firing at a watchtower
Gatehouse test:
1 volley of torches

This mod now prevents somewhat the massive blitz you could do before(you could basically take walled settlements like villages) because you may have to sit a turn or 2 to build siege towers since ladders are now much easier to set ablaze which also gives some time to possible reinforcements to arrive(If you have a massive army against a garisson of 200 you will still take the settlement like a village).
Siege Artillery has now become more important for a successful siege.
And makes the defenders advantage during a walled city assault clearer and a small garisson now actually has some chances of repelling the attackers.

hmmm thats really really sad. but thank you for that informating and enlightening answer. its really sad, i also hope now for a new Rome Total War besides my Medieval 3 Total War i wished. but till then... i play Pharaoh further. its not that bad like people said. and it makes you being interested in the big mighty old ancient egypt.

Edelweiss, a lot of things are hardcoded in the game, we can't make fire behave the same way as in Pharaoh, a lot of structures in the battlemaps of Rome II are indestructible

why there is NOT a single mod that makes buildings catch fire if you SPAM them with onagers. like the MAIN tactic of roman artillery oof. this game lacks the most playable reason. total war pharaoh did this all right, just dont got artillery cause bronze age. not a single modder thought about spreading fire. just some modders that removed it later for fucking DEI and one who dont uploaded his mod. its annoying ;(

Hey just a quick question - was anything altered that changes how the AI behaves during sieges? I'm not sure if it's the mod or something I changed with anything on my end basically - but I used to attack settlements and the AI would at least try fight back / engage my army. Now all the AI units just stand in their settlement, I'm assuming waiting for me to charge them, but all that happens is they just eat arrows until most of them are dead, and then just run away whenever my melee infantry approaches them at the end.
