Custom Die & Infinite Die Dispensers - (Die Tragic Die) [Custom Dice]

Description
This is my 1st every mod upload to the workshop.. so I hope I get everything correct!

I guess this is really a table construction toolkit mod.... What it dose is provide you with some CUSTOM MESH versions of the standard RPG Dice set. These are built for performance and while I think they look good, are not as high density as some dice I have seen on the 'shop.

Basically I needed some die for my own game project (uploading soon!) but thought it might be something others would like as well as "test" how to upload to Workshop.

Mod Contents
  • The mod provides 6x RPG Die Custom Meshes with "readable" UVmaps.
  • 6x "floating" Die Dispensers Meshes
  • Die Included are D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, And now the %Tile die!

What the Mod Dose
  • Adds new custom mesh die to use instead of the default die for D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20.
  • This removes the "mouse over text" effect that can be a bit of a pain for non-numeric die games.
  • Also, I built what I believe to be easier to read UVs that puts all the faces in the correct orientation for editing the texture map.. no need to "draw upside down" and stuff when editing your texture.
  • I also made a set of "Die Dispenser" models. This is just the same die models but set up as "infinity containers". Due to the default "correction" to orientation when you pick up a container, these containers require some text editing to place and rotate to your taste when designing your table.
  • In addition I also added some simple instructions for a "trick" to orientate your die containers, but it is not perfect if you are a table maker you probably want to edit the text file.
  • I also added a set of "Die Dispensers" for "casual" users. These Die Dispensers are raised off the ground and rotated in what I feel are cool angels. Pick em up drop em down, whatever.. they will always float a little above the ground and be ready to go... no mess no fuss
  • I also provided 7 Colour Maps. Black, Red, Blue, Pink, Orange, Yellow and Green with Numeric Values

PSD Template

I've included a PSD file of the textures used and the UV Layouts. You can simply load this PSD and edit as you like. Everything is in neat, names non-destructive layers. Change colours, fonts, drops shadows.. what ever you like. The PSD also includes editable layers for the original TTS die as well.

Thanks and Shout Outs

Big thanks to Lucky7, MrStump and TattleTale for their advise and support on the Berserk Forums and helping me get started in modding TTS.

UPDATE

It has come to my attention that a new feature in TTS allows me to add rotational values to custom dice! So now the new dice with the new UV Maps can now, if you choose, have a tooltip showing you the individual roll values and a total. Just like the official TTS dice.

If you do not want to use ToolTips on these custom die, simply right click on the die and untick under TOGGLES tooltips. FYI - You can also find the toggles to turn on Snap to Point and Grid.

• CHANGED : Added functionality to allow tooltips on the custom die
• Fixed : when updating I noticed all the links to the PDS and UV Templates were broken. they have all been fixed.

I used one of your D6s and a script from MrStump in one of my mods. Monopoly Gamer: Collector's Edition

I really like how these roll. I'll be updating my Mega Man: The Board Game mod in the future with your D6 model as well, because they work really well with the script I'm using to provide tooltip names. ^_^ Thank you for the great work!

HOTFIX - The D4 using the original TTS die has been fixed so it is showing the correct tool-tip. You need to "refresh" the textures.

• Load TTS
• Before you do anything, hit "CONFIGURATION"
• On the tab "GAME" un-tick "MOD CACHING"
• Go to "SINGLE PLAYER"
• From the WORKSHOP TAB, select the "Die Tragic Die" mod.

This will load the mod, but re-download all assets. You should now see the correct D4 Textures on the TTS die.

Remember to go back into configuration and turn MOD CACHING back on.

The new d4 needs a fix... the 'mouse-over' total and the die faces don't match up.

*** UPDATE 2 *** - Added %tile die, as well as a version of the die that still has the default "mouse over text". See "Update 2" in the description for more details.

Well, to make the die using the "mouse over"..all you need to do is edit the image maps. If you load the program directory and go into "Tabletop Simulator\Modding\Dice Templates" you will find a image template for all the default dice (that retain the mouse over)... then all you need to do is edit it to be what ever you want. If you do not have photoshop there is a host of free application to use, like GIMP or even online web browser based apps.

Wow...Thanks for the quick response. I was checking out the "latest news" description here on steam detailing the lateset update... and on that page, there is a gif running of the latest interface. It shows a workshop selection (yours) and the 'expand' option.

The dice caught my eye. At first, i tht they added a larger dice selection to the base game. As an RPG player in TTS, i'm always on the hunt for dice with easy-to-read faces. I also prefer the numeral 6 rather than the pips. I fussed with the custom dice inside the game, but they never quite turn out like i like. I had high hope for yours; oh well, thnks again for a nice workshop addition!
