Description
The Snow Leopard is an direct attack corvette with a powerful main weapon, a “Particle Cannon”. While frail and unsuited for combat during evasive manoeuvres, the Particle Cannon is nevertheless a devastating weapon when brought to bear against anything but the most heavily armoured ships. The weapons range is greater than AI turrets and rocket launchers and can be used to strip a slow ship of turrets without allowing the enemy to return fire. Despite it's advantages, the Emitter Array is extremely fragile, and although a integrated repair system does allow the crew to repair minor damage, it should not enter enemy turret range without good reason. The Snow Leopard is fast enough to evade frigates and larger ships, but is vulnerable to other corvettes and FAC, although the main weapon can make short work of lightly armed ships. Should the Snow Leopard find itself overwhelmed, it can use it's oxygen generators to power it's hydrogen boosters for a short burst of speed. Failing that, it can rely on two Jump Drives to retreat to a safe distance.

I know it's not really a particle cannon. :D But come on, after three years of the same two weapon types, I'm getting a little bored. Plus it makes a crazy noise and annihilates things so I think it's pretty cool.

Would you like to learn why I built a "Particle Cannon"? Interested in the background of the CEU? Check out these guides: steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=413136217

Instructions
  • Press Toolbar 1 to view Targeting Camera.
  • Press Toolbar 2 to fire Particle Cannon. Optional - Shout “For the Glory of Clang!” Press it again to stop firing.
  • Because the Array is so fragile, I had to recess it fairly deep into the hull to give it at least some protection. Because of this, activating the Particle Cannon during combat manuevers will probably tear the front of the ship off. It's more Stop and Pop than Run and Gun.
  • If you've ever played SC2:WoL, think of the Snow Leopard as a bit like a Void Ray. Fragile and poor vs multiple enemies, but relatively fast and capable of huge damage vs a single target.
  • Press Toolbar 3 to activate Array Repair. Press again to deactivate. This will only work to repair moderate damage, if the rotor head goes it will need to be manually repaired.
  • Like the ship but can't be bothered with this particle array bollocks? Want to play in MP without attracting the Wrath of Clang? Conversion to rocket launchers is easy and you can probably fit at least seven. Squeeze in an extra Programming Block and use Whiplash141's Weapon Sequencer for maximum dakka.
  • You are going to need a lot of magnesium...
  • Yes, I absolutely needed to put flashing lights on it.
  • Damn I wish we had more ship weapons in Vanilla...

Notes
* This ship features multiple grids and will require Advanced Engineering Competence to construct in survival. The integrated projector should assist in his task, but you will need to create a BP in Creative. If this sounds too much like hard work, just convert it to rocket launchers, there are loads of conveyors in that area.

I try to make all my ships suitable for use in survival, if you use my ships and find a bug/problem, let me know.

@Ghostdog Go here: C:\Users\Will\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints\local
Open the folder of the BP you want to edit. You should see a file called "thumb". Edit that and save as the same name. You can then check it in game.

@Smartyglasses Thanks. Mostly for the shape and to keep the mass down. IT's quite a fast ship so I'm not too worried about concentrated fire.

@Shadowrunner2323 Thanks man!

awesome design, very creative too. and I hear you on the lack of large ship weaponry.

Im with you on the limited weapon choices friend, and for awhile now too. Nice ship, I like the engine arrangement and the aesthetics overall. One critique though, why is the hull diameter so small at the midship manuevering thrusters? I would be afraid of getting cut in two. Devs can we please get new weapons now?

5ug3 , could you please tell me how you managed to make the custom thumbnails you have on youw workshop items?

or if there is a tutorial somewhere provide a link?
would be much appreciated mate.

@KDA Thanks! Yea, that's a pretty accurate guide. :D

@laddog6 Haha, IKR? It is a bit daft though.

That is a much simplier main weapon then using grav gens to launch dense mass rounds. lol

Guide of using it:
1.Aim to the thing that you want to destroy
2.Spam the button to shot
3.Enjoy being super badass and destroying anything in seconds!

PD: Wonderful ship, you did an awesome job!
