Description

This mod reduces unnecessary network traffic with Steam

Enable the mod as usual. The mod runs during the Paradox logo, so it will take effect the next time you start the game.

How much traffic is there?

Content Manager generates lots of it. If you have many workshop subscriptions, the game does many Steam requests when the main menu loads. This mod ensures that those requests aren't made before you are actually looking at a workshop item in Content Manager.

That traffic is not used for gameplay at all. It is just additional information for display in Content Manager, for example asset author name.

Excellent mod, before this it was impossible to edit my styles in content manager. I have about 5k assets and the game would come to a halt in the main menu after removing/adding assets to the styles, now theres ZERO slowdowns. It seemed to do with CS reloading all author names everytime I made a single change

Yeah but what's the point of this mod then if it only makes Steam network requests in the main menu. As long as it's not doing it during gameplay who cares.

also, as mentioned in mod description, it wont affect gameplay directly, but just the info taken from steam. you will still see that info IF you look at the mod in content manager, it just wont load that info for other mods you havent subscribed yet, while without this mod it will load everything even if you dont look at the asset/mod directly from content manager.

@Dimensional One i believe this only stops bandwith, basically cuts communications with steam workshop to get news and suggestions, however it will still load anything related to mods you already are using. dont think it will make a big difference if you have a fairly decent computer, but in lower spec computers it might be helpfull.
