This is the perfect compliment its mothership. Beautiful.
As for why I personally created an escape pod, I did it simply because I imagine that a large vessel such as the Deimos would probably have some, if the ship were real. That, and I'm a sucker for detail and functionality, so adding an "interactive element" like an escape pod to the main ship gets my creative rocks off.
I'm going to start designing the fighters/bombers/interceptors soon, so I'll be sure redirect combat attention appropriately :)
I was thinking, in addition to the post on the a-symm thread, and in the hopes of offering some constructive criticism; your escape pod should not be armed. It should be as minimalist as possible, otherwise it is more of a swarmer kind of SV - which is SWEET, just not an escape pod. :)
