This mod adds a hydroponic-specific strain of bamboo that grows fast but yields little wood. It's slightly less efficient than trees, but it should allow a mountain or dessert colony to produce enough wood to survive.

Surprised this hasn't been revived. Seems like a well-balanced mod.
