Description
About this Mod
This is a template pack intended for other modders who want to reproduce UI Skin modifications like those found in my popular Themed UI Compilation.

This is not a mod meant for direct usage with the game!

Inside this Package
This mod will provide you with the raw PSD files (Photoshop) used to make my UI modifications possible, prepared for fairly easy usage so anyone with patience and willing to experiment can create their own UI mods.

Also inside will be a detailed documentation and a list of important notes I made to avoid pitfalls while using these files, as the methods necessary to produce good skins can be a bit difficult to reproduce.

Another thing I included is a short script for ease of use of PNGcrush[sourceforge.net], a useful little tool that I use for extra compression of all my image files in the mods.
This script is no more than a text file that is set up as a registry edit, so that it creates a right click option on any PNG image file to send it to PNGcrush and compress it as much as possible without losing any data. Just double click it to create such a right click option.

If you want to use this tool, just click on the latest version folder in the list linked above, download the exe (probably the 64 bit version for most computers able to handle TW:W) and place it in your C drive. (or anywhere else that you can specify by editing the .reg file with a text editor)

Requirements
If you are a modder then you probably already have PFM (Pack File Manager), if not get it here:
Total War Center - PFM 4.1.2[www.twcenter.net]

PFM is basically required to make a UI mod and it's a fairly simple but powerful tool able to open, edit and extract any .pack file, which means any mod or game data files. You will need it to create the .pack file to contain modified UI files and possibly extract original UI files.

Another thing that will be required is an image manipulation program that can read .PSD files.
While Photoshop is great, good alternatives are PaintdotNET[www.getpaint.net] or GIMP[www.gimp.org].

Tried downloading the file and opening with the PFM tool. Didn't work, just a bunch of errors, even the new Rusted PFM doesn't recognise the template. How can i get the UI files? I'm trying to bring these to TW2.

As long as you can use Photoshop or a similar tool decently, sure.

I've never modded anything, except maybe a .sav file to give myself $$ or something similar. Do you recommend giving this a shot as a complete beginner?

Not sure what exactly happens there, but I never had issues with my loading bar colors.

I got a weird bug on the loading bar reskin.
Any loading bar that have yelowish or greenish color doesn't come out properly.
The loading bar comes out as weird pixelated, although the exported image from the template kit is normal looking.
The weird thing is anything else with yelowish or greenish color works perfectly.
Any idea what cause this error?

If you mean reassigning a skin, just take my Themed UI Compilation, open it with PFM (Pack File Manager), edit the ui_skin assignment in the factions table for the faction of your choice to the one used for Chaos and you're done.
Daimyo David 4 Jan, 2017 @ 5:28pm
how do you do that?
Crynsos  [author] 4 Jan, 2017 @ 5:26pm
Sure, feel free to make one yourself with this kit. Although there already is the pretty dark gray / blackish skin for Chaos, so that might suit your needs just fine too, by reassigning it to the faction(s) of your choice.
Daimyo David 4 Jan, 2017 @ 5:17pm
would it be possible to make a all black ui for all factions?
