"Occupying a position of strategic importance on the Gulf of Korinthos, Boiotia has strong frontiers and trade connections across the region. Thebai, its predominant city and capital of the Boiotian League, was a religious confederation at first, but is now chiefly concerned with mutual defence."

Welcome to the Boiotian League Rework, part of my Wrath of Sparta rework collection!

This mod overhauls the Boiotian League roster and gives it more unique gameplay! Boiotia is famous along with Thessaly for providing excellent horsemen. It is also famous for it's proximity to Delphi, the religious heart of Greece! Their roster has undergone a transformation from a generic copy/paste Greek roster to a religious/special unit roster with cheap, expendable religious fanatics, early shock cavalry, and limited, extremely high tier infantry.

New units:

SACRED BAND OF THEBES
: T4 barracks: The famed elite force of the Boiotians; duets of lovers and extraordinary warriors capable of extraordinary feats. Even the Spartans are wary to face these legendary Hoplites. Only two units may be fielded at any one time.
FANATICS
: T1 religion: Devout service to the Twelve Olympians blesses one with remarkable courage, if perhaps not martial skill.
LEAGUE LEVIES
: T1 barracks: When the Beoetarchs call, their subjects must answer.
THESPIAN BLADEMASTERS
: T4 barracks: Thespians, with their distinctive black cloaks, are instantly recognizable by friend and foe alike. Only two units may be fielded at any one time.
FANATICS (GREAT CLUBS)
: T2 religion: Heretics beware, a fanatic wielding a massive club can really ruin one's day, to put it bluntly.
LEAGUE HOPLITES
: T1 barracks: Drawn from the cities of the League, these hoplites may not be as hardy as Spartans, but they do their duty well enough.
BOIOTIAN CAVALRY
: T1 setlement: Boiotia and Thessaly are the regions in Greece most famous for their cavalry, and the Hellenic League suffered when they both fell to the Persians during the great war. Unsurprisingly, the Boiotians can muster considerable numbers of cavalry for their Federal Army.
TRIDENT CHARGERS
: T4 Poseidon Temple: When these men ride to war, they do so for their patron, Poseidon.
TEMPLE GUARD
: T4 barracks: Warrior Priests of the Olympians, defending their Temples from those who would desecrate them, with their lives if neccesary.
BOEOTARCH BODYGUARD
: Bodyguard Unit: Guarding the Boeotarch is an important job, and elite heavy infantry are rightfully entrusted with the task.
MOUNTAIN MEN
: T3 barracks: Hardy men living in the Pindus mountains make excellent irregulars!
LEAGUE MEN-AT-ARMS
: Hippeus Stables: The landed elite of the League make up the heaviest cavalry in the Peloponnese, armed to the teeth with lances, javelins, longswords, and hoplons. Nigh-unstoppable charge, and terrifying to face.
LEAGUE SWORDSMEN
: Upgrades from League Levies. Boiotian infantry unit armed in the "new" style of panoply.
SKIRMISHER CAVALRY
: T3 barracks: Vanilla unit unlocked for Boiotia and Thessaly! Dominate Greece with thundering hooves and raining death!
ARMOURED SKIRMISHER CAVALRY
: replaces Skirmisher Cavalry: Mounted masters of the skirmishing arts, and a terror to their enemies.
ARTEMISIAN HUNTRESSES
: T4 religion: Ones with the grove, masters of the hunt, and devout worshipers of their mother Artemis, who guides their arrows into the hearts of their enemies.
SCORPION
: T4 Range: Dominate the battlefield late game with this terrifying weapon of war!

In the name of balance, Boiotia has lost several units that they previously were able to recruit:
Militia Hoplites
Light Cavalry
Picked Hoplites*
Hoplites

*still available for general's bodyguard

Strategy:

- League hoplites are weaker, but available earlier than vanilla hoplites. They are also available as a garrison unit.
- Most boiotian units have sllightly lower morale than their non-Boiotian contemporaries, however their religious fanatics more than make up the morale gap.
- Religious fanatic units are cheap and plentiful, spam them.
-Skirmisher Cavalry is also available to the Thessalian League.

Stay tuned for the next WoS roster rework!

Note: all of my mods are totally free to use, including any assets in them, as long as credit is given :) We are stronger together as a mod community. Happy modding!

Can you please let the Thespian Blademasters be recruitable as a general bodyguard?

They should be in one of the two! You might be better off downloading the All in One version of the mod as that one has everything in one .pack

Hey Pizza Time, I love your work. But I was wanting to modify some of the variant definitions for my own private game but I can't seem to find them anywhere in both .pack files. Where are your definition files located for unit appearance generation?

Really want to add this mod, particularly for the units, but the mandatory re-skin mod is really off-putting. Not a huge fan of the re-designs for the Generals, any chance of an upload without the General's re-work?
