Report a translation problem
To answer you questions i do build the ships hull first and try to get as many details in as possible. Then i do the interior and detail the exterior even more if needed. After that i usually paint the ship and setup all lcd's and airlocks and such. I mostly get my inspiration from myself and i just start building randomly.
SIDENOTE: You will find many empty ship hulls in my build world haha.
As for the inspiration part i would advise you to check deviant art or search for images on the internet.
