Stop That Damn Flicker!

Description
Tired if flickering objects during scan? Accidentally press the ALT key and game lurched to a stop? This'll fix your problem.

I edited the highlight.config file to stop all that nonsense when scanning or highlight objects. While this saved me a few frames on my laptop, I can't guarantee it will work for lower end systems. Additionally, the Ruin Gate always seems to slow down the game during highlighting, so unfortunately, the mod can't fix that (it's an object with interactivity, which is a major problem that complicates a fix.)

This mod will probably conflict with other mods that edit the highlights.config file, .patch method or otherwise. If you're going to use this, make sure you choose one or the other mod. Sorry :`

Update: I've converted the mod to a .patch to work with color changing scanner mods - now you can keep your computer from stalling AND have your fancy colors! Enjoy!

Wow, didn't expect to wake up to an award for this in my inbox today.

[quote=IdiosyncratiCm7]Does this still work?
Yes, this still works with the base game - caveat emptor with other mods (as usual for modding).
I think a video would have been better to use to show the effect it has on performance.
At the time, I was modding the game off a laptop that could barely push the frames to 60 for the game on a good day. I could do it now, but that laptop is long gone.
so you made those labels for your dirt and sand etc with the custom sign maker at the outpost ? sorry if I got the crafting station wrong
Yes, the sign maker station is what I used back then. Takes time and patience.

Thanks to the generous soul to gave my first workshop award, despite this being a 6 year old small mod born out of a need for frames. :steamthumbsup:

@Bazooie - Thanks for the support, but often time, the best kept secrets are the ones that some people find on their own. :steamhappy:

That being said, thanks for the feedback - I was working on a mod that will help reduce issues regarding high velocity weather, but I lost interest for awhile. Now that I know I'm not the only one with these sorts of issues, I'll be working towards make a .patch for it. You would've believe how many more frames you save from it.
