CFA-44 Advanced

Description
Behold, the CFA-44 Nosferatu!
Now with triple-mount weapon bays and even an ad-hock ADMM! Mega Missile Mayhem!!!
Sorry, no EML...

<ATTENTION!>
I did NOT make this model! It was oridinally posted by Comoosenist, whose mod you can find here.
<end_ATTENTION!>

The over-powered endgame reward from Ace Combat 6, and "toned down" DLC plane from all subsequent AC games, the Nosferatu is Ace Combat's equivilent of a Macross jet! Equipped with the ADMM, the All-Directional-Multipurpose-Missile, this beast could erase an entire battalion with one shot! 4 missiles each were launched from its 3 pop-up weapon bays, for a total of 12 missiles per shot. It could fire this thing 18 times, and any target it aquired, air or ground, was doomed!

So, when I began studying how to mod Sky Rogue, I realized you could angle weapon bays away from straight forward, something I just had to try when I saw the Nosferatu in the workshop! I've seen a couple examples, but none like this. After I got it working, I customized the json to best feel like the CFA-44 Nosferatu!

So, here is what you get:
  • The Primary weapon mounts are fit in the 3 missile pods, since the way the ADMM was fired resembles the Sky Rogue Micro's. Due to how far they are angled, it seems Micro-S (Swarmers) are the only ones with enough agility to work. Twin-guns are now useless.
  • The Secondary slot equips in the same positions, but, again, only some weapons can handle being fired this way. Fortunately, the MIRV Flail is one of them! It's the closest thing this game has to the ADMM, and it's darn close!
  • The bottom slot is for the standard wing mounted missiles. I recommend Javelins, the closest to the generic missiles.
  • The left slot is intended for the pair of guns the Nosferatu equips. I recommend any Vulcan weapon.
  • The aero template is the Raiju, which still has the performance of it's swing-wings; faster top speeds, better turning at low speeds.
  • I included Comoosenist's "Strigon Red" as well as a blue and white pattern designed to resemble the "Prototype" alternate skin from the Ace Combat games. I also made my own black and yellow "Elite" skin. Makes the carrier look awesome!

This is about as close as I can get to the classic Nosferatu, but if I can get the unitypackage mod kit going I should be able to make the Electro-Magnetic Launcher (EML) and maybe a more accurate version of the ADMM!

As for the model, I made several attempts to contact Comoosenist to ask permission, but all were ignored. I'm going to assume he just doesn't give a care and "borrow" it anyway. Regardless, he still deserves full credit for making it. I would have made a model myself, but my modeling skills are comparable to those of a frozen poo (I'm working on that, but I focused on programming in college, not art!). All I did was repaint it and tweak the json config files to make it unique and special!

This aircraft feels a little heavier to move in, sorta contradicting to how it performed in the Original Game.

this thing is entirely useless to fire anything but mirv due to wide firing angle on EVERYTHING

Awesome mod!
But I thought it might need more maneuverability (at least same as 'Rogue').

I started this thread out with a request, but it's buried now. So, if anyone would like to get a video screen capture of the thing flying about and wrecking stuff with it's ADMM or Micro Swarmers, give me a link and I'll add it here. I've tried it myself, and struggled with finding good capture software. I donno if it's my video card, or something is just not set right, but I've tried a lot of options, even OBS. So, if anyone wants a go at it, be my guest!

I'd be cool if we could get one of those animated gif videos!

To be honest, I never tried this hardcore on the really advanced days, but, I've never had an instance where swarmers couldn't hit a target due to their angle. In fact, sometimes they have an advantage, when you're pulling tight turns against an enemy and the upper two bays are practically aiming down his tailpipe. Plus, sometimes you get some lucky breaks when the swarm from 1 launcher misses but another hits due to the very different angles.

Anyway, I was mainly trying to mimic the feel of the Nosferatu and its ADMM. That thing fired each missile individually, not as a simultaneous bunch, which is exactly how Micro missiles fire. It's mainly for looks and novel fun (IMO it looks really darn awesome!), so if it doesn't really suit you, then that's your preference.

I'll give it another go, I guess, and see if it really needs to be tweaked.

I did and it still feels like it overshoots. (also i think at mk3 they gain a certain amount of extra speed that makes cornering to them more awkward)
I'm not against the angled fireports but it should be adjusted a bit lower juuuust a smidge

Dracologist, are you using Micro-S, Swarmers? It works perfectly with them. See my Recommended Loadout graphic, it gives details.
