Wired Industry

Description
Wired Industry focuses on adding world and item manipulation tools that "send" items through Starbound's existing wiring system.

Base mechanics/tutorial:
This mod's objects all transfer items through the wiring system. While one object's input is connected to another's output, the former will be able to send items to the latter. Any object that has an input will also require a toggled switch or similar to be connected to said input to function. For example, connecting an Autocollector's output to an Item Router's input, connecting a switch in the ON position to the input of both, and placing an empty chest next to the Item Router will cause the Autocollector to move any nearby item drops to the chest.

This mod introduces the following new objects:
LIQUID
  • Fluid Pump Input: Comes in a normal and Matter Manipulator variety. Collects liquids and teleports them to a Fluid Pump Output; the normal variety can only pressurize any given Output up to 100 units/tile, whereas the MM variety has no such limit. To use, use the wiring system to connect a Fluid Pump Input to any number of Fluid Pump Outputs and at least one power source. Can also send liquids as items to Inventory objects, at a very low rate of transfer.
  • Fluid Pump Output: Destination for Fluid Pump Inputs. Can also receive liquids as items from Inventory objects, at a very low rate of transfer.
INVENTORY
  • Item Router: Receives items from all of this mod's item collecting objects and sends them to any object (with an inventory) within 8 blocks horizontally.
  • Item Collector: Takes items from any object (with an inventory) within 8 blocks horizontally, if connected to any of this mod's objects that can receive them.
WORLD MANIPULATION
  • Autocollector: Collects item drops from the ground within 8 blocks radially, if connected to any of this mod's objects that can receive them.
  • Autodrill: Mines any tiles within 16 blocks horizontally. Also functions like an Autocollector within this range.
  • Autopaver: Receives items from all of this mod's item collecting objects and places tiles within a 16-unit line in either direction. If the rightmost input is on, tiles will be placed in the background instead of the foreground.
  • Drill Stop: A shielded block that resists the effects of the Autodrill and Autopaver. The effects of these objects will end at any Drill Stop within their maximum ranges.
All objects are available from the Wiring Bench to all characters.

Planned features include:
  • More World Manipulation tools, including the Autoplacer
  • Item Comparator, which filters items based on category, name, etc.
  • Objects that can interact with the player's inventory

Extending range? Consider support for OR logic gates?

Found a problem with the fluid pumps: they seem to have a problem with picking up modded liquids in item form. At least the matter manipulator version. Will continue testing.

this would be OP if blocks could be pushed.

It isn't working, but I might be doing it wrong. I put an Item Collector on the side of a chest, and an Item Router on the side of another, hooked them up to each other and a lever, and turned it on. Both the router and the collector had their animations going, but nothing happened.

hm...seems there's more than a few mods like this one out there. I like steambound reloaded, but the routers reset every time you zone in, and that mod hasnt been updated in quite some time. This mod, being wired, seems better, but..."planned features"...meaning those aren't implemented. that makes me sad. Then there's vesselbound...which is a WIP. seems promising, but the nodes are a bit bulky looking. and what that one guy, rabz said...well, I kinda want the option to control the water faucets. got my fingers crossed. humm...

I've unpacked mod and found that itemrouter.object is a duplicate of itemcomparator.object
