That would be because moons have no atmosphere so the atmospheric theusters will not work sadly

i shut down the connector on the drone while i was planetside on the small moon planet. couldnt lift off on ventral thrusters alone sadly i couldnt get off the surface again without using the forward thrusters and trying to angle. maybe i did something wrong? btw gravity is at .25 g's there

That won't be because of the thrusters but rather the connector strength pulling it onto the connector, you'll have to turn off the connector when leaving the drone bay or weaken the strength and it'll work ok

ship still needs more downward thrust. cant get it to come off the surface with ascent thrusters. which leads to a problem when lifting out of the drone bay.
