You don't get unbanned from VAC, unless it's a clear mistake from Valve. My main point is that I used cheat engine to unlock something ingame, to avoid grinding and not to get an unfair competitive advantage that would ruin anyone else's game experience. It was my fault for not checking if this game was VAC enabled (it was stated on the game's store page). Usually small indie games don't have VAC.

I know this is an old post, and I know you said you didn't know that it was vac, but I just would like to know a bit more information before I come to any actual opinions. Were you on Single Player or Multiplayer? If you were on Multiplayer, may I ask why you were using Cheat Engine for it? Also, if you were on multiplayer, did you check at all for the icons as most games with VAC will have some sort of icon that represents that it's protected by VAC or some sort of Anti-cheat. Thanks in advance if you are able to answer any of these questions, and if your vac ban that your implying here is the one you have right now, I hope that if this is true, you get unbanned.
