Battlefleet Gothic: Tyranid Hive Fleet

Description
"An alien threat has risen from beyond the abyss, a swarm so vast that it blots out the stars. This horror fights neither for power nor territory, but rather to feed a hunger so insatiable that it will eventually devour the entire galaxy."
- Inquisitor Lord Kryptman

The Innumerable swarm of the Tyranids has arrived. Pray that your guns ring true and your void shields hold, for if even the smallest of them grips your hull with it's vile embrace, then truly your doom has come.

This model pack includes:
Hive Ships (including a decorative one feasting upon a planet)
Devourer Heavy Cruiser
Razorfiend Cruiser
Void Fiend Cruiser
Deathburner Kraken
Doomripper Kraken
Ramsmiter Kraken
Vanguard Drone
Stalker Drone
Narvhal

Hive Fleet Kraken, Leviathan and Behemoth are represented.

Also includes Stat Cards. The Tyranids have many special rules that will require the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada supplement to play. Note that the Heavy Cruiser stats are not official, but should be balanced.

I'm sure I'll get the notion to actually play it at SOME point, probably around the time I decide to work on the next fleet. It'd be cool to get a large scale game going as that's something that is pretty much impossible with the physical version (especially these days).

It's rare I get onto TS to actually just play a game. If i'm on it I'm usually importing the assets for a project I'm working on, and on the occasional weekend playtesting it with my collaborator. It's been in the works since last year and still hasn't been finalised, to give an idea of just how slowly these things move along.

The one time I did play BFG on TS, my friend I was playing with was disappointed with the lacking amount of dice the game requires players to roll, and what started as a shooting phase rehash turned into a weird hybrid of Dystopian Wars and BFG that we've played instead (and even then we've only played it about three times). I know it seems kinda weird that I've gone to the trouble to make these models and import them and then basically neglect them, but just creating them is usually enough for me.

I have plans to add the rest of the fleets eventually. It basically comes down to whenever I get the notion to go and design them. As you've seen, it's somewhat sporadic when those notions come around. I'll admit that I was plannign to simply offer re-colours of the Heresy Imperial ships as Chaos vessels, and then at some point make a pack for modern 41st millennium Imperial ships. I might make unique chaos ships though, it depends. Either way, the Planet Killer and Blackstone Fortresses would be new models.

Craftworlds would be tricky, just in terms of making a model that is both massive enough without being impractical, and detailed enough without exceeding the TS file limit. The Gloriana's had to have polygons removed from their keels just to make the cut. I'd definitely try to implement them while I'm working on the Eldar though.

Also, one other comment: The Eldar Craftworlds, if you were going to do that for the community. And if you're ever interested in actually playing a match of BFG I'd be up for it.

Do you have any intention of finishing out the fleets? I'm mostly interested in Chaos ships being added, but Eldar, Tau and Necrons (in that order) would also be cool to see. I really want to get into campaigns with BFG if I could find other players who were interested.

On the note of Chaos: An activated and deactivated version of the Blackstone Fortress would be perfect.
