Description
The West Coast Map theme is a temperate theme inspired on Southern California. Great temperate weather year round, nice mountains and beautiful beaches.

Changes on Vanilla Temperate Biome:

-Cliff : re-diffused to show brownish mountains with green patches.
- Oil: new texture (see screenshot)
- Ruined: new texture (see screenshot)
-Ore and Oil: new texture (see screenshot)
- Gravel: new texture, more decorative for park assets with realistic pebbles.
- Road/Pavement: Left untouched. Haven't been able to find anything better than vanilla that wouldn't mess up other things.
-Water: Left existing texture and foam. I checked a few others, but again, the vanilla seems to be the best IMO.I made Ocean Water dark blue, and a light blue shore water.
- Grass: A darker, more detailed grass from Turtle's Natural Beauty Theme
-Sand: Original texture from Turtle. I put some work changing hue, lighting, saturation and exposure to make it look realistic from close up, as well as from a distance. No more glowing sand.

Made some day and night changes to make it look like the Daylight Classic Mod.

I also like the Realistic Lut http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=627817456 . It helps the night look better and the deep ocean dark blue more realistic.

I made this theme for my WestPort Map ( http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702884163 ). In making this theme, I was inspired by the works of Captain Soap, Turtle, Owl and MrMiyagi.

Please rate and let me know of any suggestions.

Thank you so much!! I was looking for a realistic beach!
I don't know a thing about maps but I would really like to be able to import Cities xl maps ...the sea, the beach and rivers are gorgeous ! Is it possible ?

Just wanted to chime in on this theme and the cliff texture in particular... Tried about 6 tropical themes with my current game until I found this one which I really like. That being said, it would be nice if there were a hi-res update to the cliff texture as it is not so nice zoomed in. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the texture used for cliffs is the default, built into the game, I never changed the texture itself, I only changed the diffusion so it looked as if it has vegetation, and not just rocky. I believe all default textures are relatively low res. I don't think the issue you are having is with the theme. My guess it is something with the game itself, or some mod, but it is my guess. I'm glad you like it and I hope you are able to fix the issue.

PS: I'm not playing the game at the moment, but I remember, on a fresh intallation with no mods, I would notice when zooming out, terraformed part of the mountain would look funny. It would fix itself if i zoomed in.

First of all, thank you for the amazing work! Really love the way you do sand and water. But i encounter something a bit odd. The texture for the mountain is breaking up as if it comes from a low res texture. I dont know if its me cause i got my setting for texture and details on high. Anyway, again, thank you for this awesome theme

I played with some other textures, but textures are hard to make it look right in the game. There is one texture out there that is pretty popular in the workshop, but it looks too rocky, so while it looks good on cliffs and few other instances, it makes mountains look like just rock formations.

It the end, I left the texture the comes with the game, just re-diffused them to make them have more green-ish patches and not too washed.
