Mossy boulders pack

In 1 collection by Avanya
More Rocks

Description
Contains all 6 boulders

Slightly mossy versions of my boulders. The difference is subtle and you'll need to zoom in to see it. I sadly couldn't get it more pronounced without it looking silly and fake.

You can find 4 smaller boulders here.

For detailed tris and texture info see the last pic - main models are 276-336 tris with 512x1024 textures, LODs are 68-90 tris with 64x128 textures.

Way better than vanilla boulders. I like this pack. Thanks a lot.

A mod would be great and the problme is (i have both of those mods) that those effect everything ingame. I dont like to have a dark city in which i cant see very much and also it dont fit if its to dark bc the sun is just very bright. In europe themes it could be realistic but in West-US themes which i like to play the sun is very bright most of the time. Cant really explain what i am thinking but i hope you understand what i mean. Most of the time i play the game at like 14:30 and this is a very bright time of the day :P I mean rocks need to be very "hard" looking in my opinion and if they shine they look like "babys".

@Realname: Who knows, maybe we'll get a mod to turn it down a bit. I must say I've never had it that bad. There's a few angles where it looks really shiny, but most of the time they look like in the screenshots for me. Are you using Daylight Classic? If not that or Ultimate Eyecandy might be worth a look. Daylight Classic has an option for a lower brightness of the sun and Ultimate Eyecandy lets you turn it up and down. More light might mean more reflection, so turning it down might help. I always play with both those mods because the game itself is too bright for my taste. :)

Thank you for the quick answer and that is pretty sad. I wish there would be a way to work around this problem. I cant use those rocks bc it allways lookes like it just rained. In a desert theme this is pretty bad :D. The vanilla game sucks so much...make our lifes hard.

@Realname: Sadly that's how the game works. It makes everything super shiny for values like 3 or 5 out of 100. There's really nothing I can do about it. Turning it off makes the rocks look much more flat, which is why it's there. If I was to use these rocks for any other game or a render, then the shine would be way too little. Cities: Skylines just makes any little kind of shine very very strong. :(

Why they need to be so shiny and bright? Looks unnatural to me. Dont get me wrong your work is awesome but i dont understand why they are not matt.

@Avanya: Now I see what the problem is. Thank you for the information. I appriciate your help and work. So I will wait. It is not that I need it this week.
I hope that it will inspire to creat some historic assets and sites.

@HMaster-II: I know those, we have them in Denmark too. The reason why the boulders act differently is because the big ones are actually buildings and the small ones are props. It isn't an easy change to make - I'd basicly have to reimport everything to change it. Honestly it would be faster to make one or two variations of those instead.

I'm sorry to say I'm just too busy atm to make those, but I'll note them down for a later time, as they would be some cool little things to have. So sadly you'll have to live with the stone options we have atm.

@Avanya these boulders are very nice. But I was trying to create something historical with these boulders and ran into some problems. I found out that the small boulders can be lifted into the air with the "Move-it" mod. But the big boulders can not. The big ones can only sink into the ground.
I want to create a thing called "Hunebed" in Dutch. Which is a pre-historic gravesite mostly found in a small part of the Netherlands. The layout is a big mostly flat boulder which lays on top of a few smaller blouders.

SO... If you could help me with changeing some assets that would be grate.
