Description

As time went on, ships like the Ibis began to prove obsolete in the newer Phoenix fleets. The old models were retired into civilian defense services such as police or corporate security forcers for smaller colonies. However, the model continued to be a popular choice within the Navy until its retirement, and it was only retired when a successor could be guaranteed.

While the first Ibis was relagated to more patrol style duties, the Ibis II emerged as a fully combat dedicated corvette. While slightly heavier than its predecessor, the Ibis II still outclassed the first in several categories. It was faster, more maneuverable, incorporated a jump drive, had an interior pressurization system, and an AI controlled rocket turret to ward off approaching enemies or perform hit and runs.

The new corvette entered service early 2107, where it quickly found demand as an escort ship for larger ships of various types and purposes.

enjoyed the video. i would suggest, though, that you find more specialized testing systems rather than using one for every type of ship. for example, testing the ramming of this ship is kind of pointless as it's not designed for that in any way. larger ships are likely going to fail your manueverability tests just as smaller ships will fail your armor ones. it's not an easy task to perfect, but if you found good proportions depending on the size of a ship, that would be the fairest measure. (for example, a corvette could be expected to perform a 360 under 10 seconds, whereas a battleship under 40 or so).

still i will say again good job on the video, and the above is mainly just a suggestion. the system is a good and fairly balanced one still.

Working on a "ship graveyard" scenario and looking for a variety of ships to blow up - may I use yours? I'll credit you on the Workshop page if/when I publish. (Beautiful ship, btw).
