IMDC Europa-class Drone Carrier

! Warning, this blueprint contains multiple grids, that can heavily influence your performance !

The drone carrier is a modified Europa-class carrier, able to carry 4 patrol boats and 20 fighter drones into battle. I recommend to use the 5km modded sensor otherwise you will have a hard time finding a target for your drones. Another possibility could be using drones with turrets, that autonomously acquire their targets.


The Fleet AI script by Rdav is installed on this ship, all credit for that goes to him. Be sure to check his work out, he has more practical scripts for you engineers out there!

Additionally I installed Whiplash's Door Script on the ship to manage the doors and keep the ship pressurized.

I published this build for pure fun, just paste in the ship, get in the seat, set ownership, start your drones and drop your jaw when a whole fleet moves into position for attack.



Minor Issues:

Connectors are bugged at the moment, they tend to drift away but technically the connection is still established (green markers). Just start all those fighters right after you paste this built, flying in formation is more fun anyways.

It is possible to loose one or two drones after pasting, I wasn't able to prevent this from happening.

Does this still work? When i paste it into creative to test i cant get the drone to do anything?

Thanks for the info Jd.Horx. the Limit does hurt a little to my plan but most of your news is good. I planned to make a D shaped hanger that when large ship/fighters launch the floor tilts up for drone size launches and same goes from the top from 1 side. Complicated but would be really cool if it could be done.

1. If you are able to make those drones small enough, it should work, but I dont recomment it.
2. If you connect a drone to the mothership, it will be assigned virtually to a connector, but not the one you connected it to at first. (funny, huh?)
3. I dont know if the script is able to handle connectors that are on a rotor connected grid, so make sure, the PB is on the same grid as the connectors.
Remember that you are at the moment limited to 20 fighter drones and 4 frigates. All I wrote is based on the version I last used (first update I think) and could have changed by now.

JD.Horx this is awesome. couple of questions. A few things I couldn't make out. Does it work with 1 large block wide connectors for drone connections side by side (Think sardines)? do they return to the same connector they left or take any available. Last is can fighters land on a connector that is on a rotor panel that can flip out to launch? Got an idea for 1 bay door and side panel launchers come out to launch additional drones. No problem, just paste in the ship, add the sensor to the front, set it to max range, set ownership to "me" and the ship is ready to go.

i got an advance sensor, but when i want to spawn it its saying: missing mods

You don't need any mods. But I recommend you to use an advanced sensor (any version from the workshop will work) mod to track enemy ships for FleetCom and the drones.
Apart from that, the ship comes completely vanilla.
