Point Blank - Revised

Description
This map was originally made in PTI Ace Ryder, if you liked the puzzle, consider visiting POINT BLANK <COOP> and leaving some love there as well.

I chose to remake the map in hammer to see what I could do with it in the Art Therapy style, and to get some practice with that style as well (you gotta have a puzzle to make if you want to work in hammer, and i always thought this puzzle was pretty good). Truth be told I really didn't know much about this style, and when you look at the maps of course 6 they pretty much all have their own characteristics, with a few similarities (except the first map, that one is fairly different), but lots of little details that make them what they are. The point is I decompiled a few of the Art Therapy maps and copy pasted a few parts that make the visual style what it is (except the puzzle area and a few other things, those were all mine :p). Rest assured though, I did make some changes to them so it's not pure plagiarism, only partial. ;-)

My goal was to keep the main puzzle functions as is and the same thing for the visual style, baring anything I thought might be improved somehow, but not deviating too far from the original puzzle and style. I also added some dialogue when someone dies and a Remote View button to toggle your partners view to stay on (thanks to Raidix for that, I made a few improvements on the logic of his version, but the main thing I needed was the entity that actually runs the command to turn remote_view on and off). So yeah, be sure to let me know what you think, and thanks for playing.

No problem for the late reply, I've just been sitting up here in Washington on my own sort of going crazy for a couple years, so nothing new there too haha I'm actually thinking of moving all the way across the country as well just to get out of this mess. No new maps, or mods lol, I can't even think about projects anymore, I'm leaving that part of me behind for a while.. maybe I'll come back one day. I don't have an instagram, but I saw yours, and man I might just grab some of those pics for reference material, which I still collect as a hobby haha.... I mean, feel free to add me again on steam if you want..

Also I'm always quoting stuff from that video but no one knows what I'm talking about (not that they can because it's not a video they could have seen [which kind of makes it funnier :Undyne:]), thanks for grabbing it for me, and sorry again for the belated reply :l

Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you, I had a feeling that would happen if I didn't respond right away (which I didn't ofc, because why would I be proactive about stuff? That would actually make sense). I've been getting through it (sort of), bout ready to set the place I work on fire with everyone in it, but you know, nothing unusual; I'm also sort of across the country right now and probably will be at least a few years.
Don't remember if you said you were on Instagrahm or not, but I'm on there now too; so yeah, I guess if you want to see what I'm up to (sort of), perhaps look me up on there if you are. As usual, I try to keep the same name across platforms. If you're not on there though, what have you been up to? Anything interesting? Any new maps (or mods ;p) coming out Soon™?

I didn't build the puzzle in a map, I copied a few key pieces to the style and tried to vary them somewhat so that it didn't look exactly the same. It's like using a model, you use models over and over again, it's not like you make a new different model for everything you want to do, especially something that performs the same function, so for all intents and purposes what I did was fine.
As for the thumbnail, the idea of it was to show the main test area, not to show what "style" it is; besides, you want people to discover things in the map, if you take pictures of everything then there's nothing else to find ;p

Oh MAN, that was great! I love the art therapy style and you did a fine job recreating it. So fine infact, that I guessed that you exported a valve map and built your puzzle in it. Yup, the description says I'm pretty much right. I'm okay with that though, because it's a new puzzle so I don't know why that would be plagiarism.

Good job to Ace Pyder for the puzzle. I'm not a speciallist in coop maps but I had quite a lot of fun playing this one.

You can't see it's an art therapy map from the thumbnail, I would've chosen another. - Because art therapy is so great. Everithing else is perfect!
