Description
Modular Base Assembly Kit
The Modular Base Assembly Kit is the fifth work by Engi Innovation. It is a ship in Space Engineers which contains the blueprints, in projector form, for many different types of modules you can use to assemble a base. Each module is designed to particular specifications so that its blocks line up with those of all other modules, allowing the creation of seamless towers which share inventory.
It is intended for natural gravity only. Engi Innovation does not use modifications.

For a video tutorial on how to use the MBAK, please refer to the first video in the media bar above. For written instructions, please read below, or read the LCDs within the ship itself.

The MBAK blueprint contains three ships, one large and two small. The small ships are for assembling the components in vacuum or atmosphere; the large ship contains the actual projectors for the modules. Individual modules can be selected from the ship, whether arbitrarily or by necessity, and placed onto the main base grid and welded together to create each section. There are many different modules offering a wide variety of components available for base construction.

About Engi Innovation
Engi Innovation is a branch of Engi Aerospace that focuses on innovative and unique engineering. Whereas typical companies and factions focus solely on regular ships and stations, Engi Innovation aims to break away from standard creations and introduce new ideas.

Instructions on how to operate the Modular Base Assembly Kit:
Within the control system there are projectors with the label 'PRJ'. Each of these has a unique name, which signifies what component it contains.

Using a control panel, buttons within the main ship, or remote control, select one projector and turn it on. It will immediately be assembled at the top of the ship. This projection is only a four block component, which contains the projection for the actual module.

When a small ship flies over the projection, the merge blocks holding the small component will deactivate, and it will come free. It can then be transported to any designated location, whereby the actual module can then be welded. After the piece has been safely removed, the 'Projector Output' must then be manually turned back on so as to allow another module component to be constructed.

Short numbered instructions:
1. Manually place a station block inside of planet voxels.
2. Attach one or two merge blocks to the first block, face up.
3. Inside main ship computer, turn ON a 'PRJ - Main Base' projector.
4. Connect a landing gear attachment to an MPIC (Multi-Purpose Industrial Craft).
5. Fly MPIC over projection and grab the newly created four block component with the landing gear.
6. Attach the four block component to the previously created station grid inside of the planet voxels.
7. Inside the main ship, turn ON the 'Projector Output Merge Blocks' group.
8. Similarly repeat steps 3-7, using different projectors with the 'PRJ' designation. Connect the merge blocks to respective locations in the main base.

List of all current modules:
Armored Medical Room ; Assembler Module
Cargo Module ; Empty Module
H2O/O2 Module ; Hydrogen Tanks Module
Open Control Room ; Sealed Control Room
Reactors Module ; Refinery Module
Systems Module ; Weapons Module
Base 2x2 ; Base 2x3
Roof Gatling ; Roof Missile
Roof Plain ; Roof Landing

Possible future additions, provided demand:
- Collector roof
- Welder garage
- Grinder garage
- More base grids (2x4, 3x5... nxm) (req. by tanus11)
- Solar array roof/module (req. by gothosan)
- Modular garage; "floor modue", with projectors that can add variable heights, culminating in a celing which continues the merge block module attachement trend. (by spacemoses)
- Main component ship projector output module - a module containing the blueprints for all other modules? Including itself?? Von Neumann modules???

Other suggestions:
These suggestions have been made by people, but I believe them to be too complicated to simply add in to this creation and therefore better suited for an entirely new work, probably by someone else.
- Space for smaller modules on the corners of the main base, especially for weapons (req. by reallyisnot)
- The ability to place modules on the main ship itself (req. by Sage)
- A module that builds the main ship (req. by Sage)

If you have any suggestions, or have found any issues, please comment on the workshop page or either of the videos.

This ship is 100% vanilla.

The more I think about this thing, the more I realize that you might be a Mad genius!!

can you build the ship with a projector in survival or does the ship have to be spawned in creative?

This does not work. the ship will not pick up pieces the only thing that happens is the landing gear locks to the part where the projection is but does not trigger anything.

It’s funny because I wanted to use it in space so I put it on a box and put a grav gen in the box. The box was on a roid FYI
