DE_COREDUMP

Undisclosed urban location, 0200 hours.

A raid on a suspected hideout of an international cybercrime syndicate has yielded positive results. Counter-terrorist assault teams, working in tandem, were able to capture several notorious hackers and secure a small warehouse containing heavily encrypted server banks. It is suspected that these server banks contain information pertaining to the internals of the syndicate, and it is crucial that their data is transmitted to a specialist lab soon so that work can start on cracking their security.

Now, however, a new clock is ticking.

A dead-man's switch built into the servers' decentralised operating system has automatically alerted a local mercenary group to the situation. Unbeknown to anybody else, their mission begins, with one simple objective: stop the data falling into the authorities' hands, at any cost. The servers, located at site A, must be destroyed with a heavy-duty IED. If the servers themselves are too heavily defended, the mercenaries may also opt to halt the transmission by bombing the radio mast, located at site B.

WHAT IS DE_COREDUMP?

Core Dump is my first map that I have deemed suitable for release. With a conventional four-square layout and geometry inspired by the likes of Mirage and Nuke, it strikes a balance between the familiar and the experimental, all wrapped up in a night-time urban aesthetic poised delicately between the contemporary and the cyberpunk. With a number of potential rotation routes, complex verticality and two vastly different bomb sites, I hope Core Dump can find its place among semi-competitive defuse maps -- or at least, doesn't make too many people smash their keyboards in frustration.

Features:

- Custom skybox, in all three dimensions! Gaze up at the night sky and wonder how you can see the stars with all this light pollution.
- 8 spawns per team! If you have more players than that, you deserve what's coming to you.
- Custom materials! Do you know how to model neon signs? I don't. Expect a lot of flat textures overlaid onto grates.
- Abominable optimisation! (I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tried, okay?)
- neokobe.wav (may not be included)
- Hours of fun! (definition of fun is subject to author's discretion)

Planned updates (don't expect 'em any time soon):

- Refactor geometry to allow greater optimisation
- Fix the overview when I can be arsed
- Come up with some sensible names for all the areas
- Prettier lighting

I am working on a competitive match with bots- and even losing to them, because I don't know the map yet- Could you pls add AR &/or DM, it would help a lot with that.

A really nice looking map, but could you add some AR & DM? -for quick, fast-paced rounds- also, it's a big plus being a nighttime map! They're always appreciated :) :irhalfmoon:
