Description
The Gladius Single Stage Interplanetary Cruiser is an multi purpose combat vessel designed to carry and support a small expeditionary force. The Gladius has a pressurised hangar and garage for carrying small craft, as well as an external flight deck with clamps. It also has a full industrial suite for the processing of raw materials and the fabrication of components and ammo. It is capable of operating anywhere from deep space to the surface of planets. Powerful ventral hydrogen thrust allows the Gladius to lift a significant payload to orbit and six Jumpdrives allow it to travel between worlds in a relatively short space of time. While well armed, with an armoured CIC and capable of deploying several fighters, the multifunctional nature of the Gladius means it should be treated as a mobile base rather than a direct combat vessel.

Background
Due to the success of the Endeavour program, by the late 21st century many CEU enclaves had been founded across the solar system. While many of these operated peacefully and traded with local factions, in the lawlessness of the frontier conflict was inevitable. Many laid claim to contested mineral deposits or minor satellites and some engaged in piracy and smuggling. While most were left to their own devices, some enclaves stumbled upon resources too valuable for the CEU and other factions to ignore. The problem was how to protect these claims.

As these enclaves were spread all over the system, sending a full invasion force to each colony in trouble would be an unworkable solution and as other factions were also yet to cement their control on these far flung worlds, most conflicts were small in scale anyway. The solution to this problem came in the form of the Gladius SSI Cruiser. Able to travel to any point in the solar system in a relatively short space of time, the Gladius can deliver supplies and defend colonists from all but the most determined pioneer militia. Gladius crews are considered heroes by the pioneers of the CEU and in recent years Gladius crews have come to consist mainly of recruits from these distant communities.

one very big request i'd love if you could add them @5URG3 is adding total PCU of the ships without their fighters server i'm on is a major buzzkill of 20k or so PCU limit cause people were building bases of 500k PCU just to piss people off outta armor blocks all over a planets surface T.T

I know it's been 3 years but this ship is almost what I was looking for,
I'm making some major reworks here and there for my own needing, and will let you know the new concept of your amazing ship.
BTW; I'm fan of Hyperion systems !

The upper airlock when used makes the ship spin voilently and twist in space. Any idea why it does this or a fix for it ?

Just pasted this ship as I was curious to see what its like. This ship is huge. It feels like a real capital ship (if we had space flight) I got lost a few times!

Just wondering, I can't seem to find the main cockpit, the one with all the shortcuts in the toolbar. Also in the flight deck overview room theres some button consoles with nothing assigned. I also noticed the LCD screens don't update with information like when you fly the ship speed and position don't update, or when you toggle on/off for certain items.

I love how your airlocks are all scripted, and the interior doors shut after X time. It's a very well made ship!

Like I said, overall it feels like a real capital ship! defiantly requires more than one man to opporate!

@swkonkol The most powerful thrust is at the bottom, not the rear. You should be able to use the launch management script from the main cockpit. Check the link in the description for instructions. This was tested with a 2.5kt payload and it will make it to orbit from any vanilla planet.

ive been having trouble leaving atmospheres greater than or equal to 1G, i was wondering what other ships might work better or if theres something im missing on this one, ive been trying to find any still deactivated thrusters or any of that but im not finding anything, any suggestions
