Veteran Training: Defense Matrix Edition

Description
This allows your veteran soldiers to help fresh soldiers gain experience without needing to go out on missions.

LATEST UPDATE: Now prevents infiltrating soldiers (from LW2) from being eligible to lead patrols, or to gain XP from patrols.

WARNING: This uses the Defence Matrix instead of the GTS for compatibility with mods like the LW Officer Pack, but it will conflict with mods that modify the slots of the Defence Matrix.

The addition to the defence matrix allows Sergeant+ soldiers to go on training patrols with Corporal and below troops. While out on patrols, they can't be deployed on missions, unless the training session is cancelled (in which case you'll have to start all over), but once they finish, your Rookies and Squaddies should earn at least a promotion to their next rank. With further patrols, they can even hit sergeant rank.

Leaders of these patrols also gain a will-boosting perk when they finish leading these training patrols.

The formula used to calculate training time, how much of a benefit mentors give out, whether rookies are allowed to gain XP, how high the rank gain from patrolling can go, the minimum rank required to train, etc have had their variables exposed in an .ini file for end user tweaking.

If you wanted a more detailed explanation of what exactly the exposed do and what you can change, edit XComRM_VeteranSlot.ini, which should be located at (where ever you have XCOM 2 installed)\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\630074091\Config

If you want to change the amount of will mentors gain, edit XComMentorConfidence.ini, located in the same place as the above .ini.

A big thanks to both Long War Studios and BlueRaja, for who without their mods and code (the Officer Pack and All Soldiers Gain XP respectively), this mod wouldn't have been possible.

BUGS & OTHER ISSUES:

SEMI-COSMETIC - Since XP doesn't seem to be something we can directly modify (at least as of now), I'm using BlueRaja's method of getting around that by adding kills to soldiers from his AllSoldiersGainXP mod. This means that soldiers getting ranked up will have "inflated" kill counts. Not a high priority, as I've edited the prompts to indicate the mentors are leading patrols to make this side effect more immersive.

BLUE ROOM - The GTS can glitch out and become unusable. Unfortunately I cannot figure out why and I have been unable to replicate this bug at all, and I have ruled out multiple base causes at this point

VANILLA - Soldiers who gain multiple promotions without doing their squaddie level up will not have their squaddie abilities, this is an issue that can be replicated in the base game alone if you abuse levelupbarracks too much. Please rank up your soldiers after every training session.

PSI ops and SPARKS gain no XP; in my last playthrough a year or so ago they did...any way to change this back again myself via some config shenanigan I haven't discovered yet?

Okay mod. Still not entirely sure who should be training who.

can you add one more slot for the Defense Matrix for a soldier to lead patrols?

Something odd here. I got the "hidden perk discovered" message for Mentor Stamina when one of my dudes got promoted after a mission.

Since these mentor bonuses are implemented as AWC perks, it seems they can be randomly aquired by any soldier -without having lead any patrols- instead of the hidden perk from the AWC list. And it seems that this prevents soldiers from aquiring their 'regular' AWC perk.

I don't know if this behaviour is due to this mod, LW2 or 'A Better AWC (LW2)', the only other thing in my load order that's messing with AWC perks.

Does anyone have a fix?

To whom it may concern: Works fine with LW2 (at least here, ~170 other mods alongside).

I have one question though: How can I influence the chance that my "Drill Sergeant" mentor gains this or that particular mentor bonus?
I stuck a slow-*** Master Sergeant in there 10 times, hoping to get the Mob bonus, but all she got was Mentor Confidence 9 out of those 10 and 1x Mentor Toughness. Another dude (who was already rather quick) got Stamina 2x out of 5 and is now basically an energizer bunny specialist...would like to be able to edit this somehow.

great implementation and exactly as the tin says. yay!
... unfortunately the base values are definitely OP. a single patrol route leveled up all of my rookies to squadie (i had about a dozen new faces at the time, so it was VERY noticeable). If there was a way to limit the number of soldiers that gained experience it might be more balanced. ^^;
