Magellan Light Exploration Vessel

The LEV Magellan is an entirely self-sufficient exploration vehicle. It has a full complement of solar cells and oxygen farms for those long stretches of bleak nothingness, as well as a small reactor and an oxygen generator for when Fate smiles upon you. Its large battery bank allows it to make three consecutive jumps with little pause in between; if the batteries run out, they can recharge under solar power in three or four hours, if the jump drive is not charging. Comes complete with an upward-facing camera for sun alignment, so you can squeeze every last watt out of the solar panels.

Its cozy cabin is built for one occupant, though it can support two, provided one stays in the cryo chamber during jumps. The underwing nacelles contain one material-efficient refinery, an arc furnace, and two power-efficient assemblers. It is not equipped with any drills; you will have to go outside and do the dirty work by hand. It is recommended that you do not attempt to land on planets or moons with this vessel. Doing so may result in death, serious injury, or possibly both.
