Also from my perspective if you have to build a weight sink underneath your ship then you have failed to build a good ship chassis.
Reload time for guns is about 1 minute which is abyssmal they all fire at once then all go silent for 1 whole minute.
- Multi-piece turrets have a tendancy to clip the ship, failsafe isn't the best (could be solved with azimuth restrictions i guess).
- Ammo isn't really a problem, it's sustainable. Only issues are reloading (belt-fed especially), and the ammo is something targetted early and often by AI (has 2-3 layers of metal armour and two shields covering, but the sheer volume of shots ultimately get through, it's compartmentalized, so still takes a bit of work to destroy it all).
I don't put much effort into AI stuff, just enough for basic functioning. All about the ship design for me. :)
