Narrow Suburban House 1

Japanese Suburban Styled Houses
46 items
Description
This is my first custom asset for this game. This is a narrow single-family house fit for tight suburbs. The features include a very small lot size, little to no setback from the road, and very close to the adjacent house. This was inspired by various Japanese suburban houses. I plan on doing more of these in the future.

I finally figured out how to update it! The tri count is now 624, more than 5 times less than before! Thank you guys for all of your help!

I really don't know how to update the file. There's supposed to be a update button on the content manager, but it's not showing up. Can someone help me?

Aren't asset makers able to update their models without making a new version on the workshop?

Thanks for your help! I just found out that he air conditioner itself is about 2500 tris. I would have never thought that small detail would cost so much. I guess I was too ambitious with the details. I'll reupload a smaller version soon!

Looks very good, but I agree with Sanvich - it's a high count for something that small that will spawn alot. I think the curvy hooks below the mailbox prob have a lot that could be lowered. Might be the same with the pipe from the ac - I can't really see for sure. I find for small pipes like that 4 sides shaded smooth actually looks round.

As for slopes they're annoying for sure. With "flatten terrain" enabled is the best the game can do. It might be worth trying without it though - that makes the wall (and the rest too) follow the terrain. Not sure if it would look right with this house or flatten terrain is better.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work :)

Almost everything on the lot is part of the main geometry including the walls and ground, explaining the large tri count. It keeps the pavement on the driveway from spilling out into the yard. Since the lot is small, the driveway would have covered half the lot.
Also, this is to help the lot handle inclines more easily. However, it doesn't handle too well. I will try to keep the the tri count low on my other buildings.

Do you have any suggestions on making the lot completely flatten the terrain?

Lotta tris for something growable and so small.
